erm might be a silly q but how do i get/make a forge? i can't find it
its one of the things you have in your SG/VG base, and you have to buy it first, can be quite expensive too.
is it a room or sumthing that goes in the workshop? or sumthing you unlock using salvages??
Arcane Forge is the equivalent of techs basic worktable. U can buy/place them in ur workshop rooms only, and it dont matter what type u previusly got. a forge will cost 25k prestige (pocket change in comparison) and since u sell ur workbench for 25k, buy forge 25k, sell forge 25k buy workbench 25k it will cost u..... +25-25+25-25=0 prestige

yeh but not everybody can edit the base

Actually you can craft componenets and functional object even though you can edit the base. You can even place the objects you create using the prestige of the SG.
I currently have a lot of arcane salvage I want to trade to tech salvage.

That was not in question, this thread was suggesting replacing an arcane forge with a tech workshop temporarily to trade components(formed from salvage) rather than individual salvage.
I also have a selection of arcane components which I would prefer to trade for some tech componants of comparable level. If you have spare tech components send me a tell @Darklimb
As im currently swamped with useless stuff, im hoping to trade some salvage-components.. i got aprox. 100 (mystic element and tofi) that im trading 1 for 1 tech components (power or material) u might be thinking that u dont have both tables, but easiest way to handle it is to sell ur table, build a new tech table, then sell that one to rebuild ur forge... wont hurt a bit and is 100000000 times easier to transfer components instead of salvage =)
