Sing
Sing gets, I dunno, 70-90% resistance, only once have I seen one die from damage and that was under very heave fire. And yes, it can be buffed, but not healed.
I don't know what it is, but its high.
Problem is, it can't really tank since it likes to move back to behind you no matter where you drop it. I tend to just drop it and then forget about it. The only place where I really strategically try and place it is in PvP, for trapping people without KB protection in corners (although even then it doesn't work well, since the sing seems to be able to KB people through itself).
Oh, and as for healing it? I slap a powerboosted AB on it if I'm soloing and it takes too much damage.
Ive gone Grav/kin and was looking on the hero planner and it says that increase density has a 20% resist buff to smashing and energy so I was gonna see if I could use it to tank with the buffs.

And you cant really force it to go where you like. Conclusion is yes sing can tank, but you cant make it tank.

Sings used to have huge damage resistance, but it was reduced in I5, although it's still pretty high. It can easily tank Psi Babbage's Wail. I wouldn't recommend giving it Increase Density as it doesn't really need the extra resistance and as it is already quite slow it would slow it down even more (although you could always Speed Boost it).
Can you heal Sings yet? I never get the chance as it's never usually next to mobs as they get repelled.
On a simple comparison of the damage he takes compared to me I've always thought the sing had 50% Res to all damage types. And while I generally don't use him in teams I think I've seen him get healed before as well. Can't test it myself though.
As others have said you can't direct him, so while he can tank quite well, it'll usually only happen if you summon him directly into a group. Still a decent tactic though if the power is recharged.

Thats exactly whhat I was thinking of Max
I have found the best tactic to use for getting the thing to tank is to summon it right in the middle of the mob you want it to agro.
You seem to have much better range on where you can summon it than you do on recall Friend. I always found that by the time i'm close enough to recall friend into the mob, and be sure it's not coming right back to sit by me, the mob have spotted me anyway.
I normally only use this if I'm fighting a mob with several bosses or an AV to take the alpha strikes. Dreck for example 2 shot fluffy this week and a big mob will kill it in seconds.
I have also noticed that bad guys 'preffer' to target you, so as soon as you make a move against an enemy they will change focus to you and ignore your pet. Hence I suggest being wary of any AoE's, once you get agro the pet never seems to get it back.
Lastly if you are travelling I'd recommend de-summoning the damned thing, it has a nasty habit of stopping off on the way to agro a few mobs and brings them with it. Like a cat brining you presents!!
Nothing is worse than seeing your singularity popping around a corner looking all pleased with itself only to see the next second 3 mobs following it.

Takes too long. If I had all day in teams to do the mission, yeah I guess you could make a sing tank, but I cant find any fast practical way. And how does recall friend make the sing to somewhere not close to you?

Singularity cannot tank.
No matter what powers you use, or combination thereof, there is no way to make him tank. He will always move so that he is behind you casting his powers from range. Not only that, but he has repel which makes tanking impossible.

Incorrect. He will stay where he's put until all mobs around him are dead.

And (in my experience at least) do a reasonable job of holding aggro. Perhaps not strictly Tanking, more a reliable distraction, but useful none the less. Just don't try it against large groups of red/purple - the thing does definately have it's limits.

Recall friend is still quite nice to reposition the sing. I use it all the time to put it in doorways and such.

Does anyone know any numbers and details for this?
I want to know the resistance the sing gets and if it can be buffed to tank.
