We should indeed try again when the stables are more forgiving. In the brief second we tried it we managed to move my badge bar by 1%, so it probably wont take too long if we can actually get the damn thing to work =)
At least we managed to get the elite turrets up though =)
mind you, there was an AWFUL lot of lag last night and associated mapserver errors. think it could just be related to that and maybe it's worth a second attempt?

it's definitely worth a second go. I was lagging and banding all night, not just in that mission. When the maperservers arent playing up i'm sure it'd be just fine
If at first you don't succeed, give up and go do something easier and far less rewarding is my motto, but why not. Not tonight though as spanky isn't around and i'll (probably) be heroing.
On a completely unrelated topic i'm thinking (not a good start) of rolling a SS/Inv brute, as i haven't tried one and it's the only set that catches my eye. I am of course reading guides and what-not, but any specific tips from those who have experience with the sets would of course be most welcome.
On another unrelated topic....day at work getting worse and worse. I got something in my eye at lunchtime and it's been hurting ever since and i'm squinting like i have a facial tik and now i have a headache 
I have managed to offset this by dropping a giant metal stapler on my foot, thereby spreading the pain more evenly amoungst my extremities...sigh. The only thing remaining to cap it all off is if i get squished by a bus on the way home, so fingers crossed.

Actually Kitty, I'm also thinking of a new brute. My NRG one was ok, but I'll have to do some reading around best powersets etc. mind you, I'm in work all day today, so what else would you expect me to do with my time? 
Much as i like FireScar, she's RUBBISH solo (at least until I gets me little impses (i hope!!)) so I'm thinking brute again, cos the little bit of runnnig round that i did with...whatever I called my last Brute, it was so easy to solo with her.
If i find anything interesting (brute related) I'll let you know.

some guy says the following:
Energy melee: Lovely damage, good diorientation tactics
Fiery Melee: Cool damage plus some DoT
Dark Melee: Not my fav, but reduces accuracy alot and some variety to it
Stone Melee: STRONG but slow and may need hasten
Super Strength: Basic attacks, strong and cool knockback
Invulnerability: Nice and simple, and some good auto shields
Dark Aura: Some nifty shields and other pwoers, my fav
Fiery Aura: Some cool DoT, shields, self heal, and a self rez
Energy Aura: Not a good one really, very squishy
Stone Armor: Kickass resistance, plus an awesome lvl 38 power
If you are new to brutes I would recommend super strength and invulnerability. Simple and fun to play. Afterwards if you feel bored with it try something like stone or energy melee.
i had energy primary on....whats'ername, and it was pretty good. don't remember what my secondary was though. probably INV, as when you're making an uninformed choice, being invunerable sounds like a fairly good deal!
Might try a fire/fire though. hmmmm, that means I need another name....

In that case I think I will jump on the bandwagon as well. Always wanted a brute but never knew what to go for!
I like the fact that you can solo with them when you just want to pop on for 10 mins and havent got time to join in SG mishs.

Bloody servers are down for maintenance wouldnt you just know that when I actually dont need to be in work until 12 I can't get on the game and its way to early for me to go "on" the game

Illusions take 2 - I'm on for that over the w/e if people want
SS/Inv Brutes - mmmm nice new colours in I7 - /Inv looks properly evil now... I'd find the link but my surfing is a little curtailed here (too many big-wigs around)
Was also out on drinkies in the big smoke last night - a wee bit tender this morning....
For this evening - I'm easy really - will take it as it comes - would like to do some work on my Grav Dom but will see...

I'm thinking possibly fire/dark as well. Guess I'll have to have a tinker and see which i prefer.
BTW boys (and Lady), do take a look at the base. We think we've come up with something that I think both Kitty and I are happy with, so it would be nice (even if it is ultimately unimportant 
) to know what everyone else thinks.

KB = knockback (not sure if you were being sarcastic )
Fire and dark armours both lack and KB or immob res, meaning CJ and Acro as standard (Cut my cookies for me?)
Dark/Fire would seem good to me as it would mean 2 end recovery powers, 2 self heals and a self res (if only cal had one, talk about mileage)...Fire/Dark would be rare and unique, but i'd imagine the end issues would be horrible.
I'm going SS/Inv purely coz it's nice n simple, oh and no nasty auras to obscure my costumes (i may smoke like a chim-a-ney, but no need to resemble one )

As for the KB, no, I was serious, and hadn't even thought of that so thanks for flagging it. I've never been a tank/brute at any level over 10 before now, so I'm unaware of such pitfalls.
My next alt is DEFINATELY going to be a flyer too, cos SJ is just rubbish for PvP, and I also hate all that tripping over when the CoT drop that road [censored].
Dark/Fire sounds interesting....i will add that to my list.
Still need a name though.....

Dark Armour is a good set as it has one of the few psi resistance powers in the game. As kitty said you need to go the SJ Acrobatics route for KB protection and it is very end heavy. The same goes for Dark Melee it is a very good set but it needs to be slotted heavily for accuracy and end reduction. You definitely need stamina with either. The one other problem with DA is that your self heal doesnt add to your HP like most of the others. To compensate it does come up much quicker than other self heals.
