Tactics (not the power) in PvP?

Seems like every pvp team I get on is not actually teams. It's 8 individuals with private chat.
Does anyone ever have teams where some form of strategy or tactics are involved?
I mean on peak hours when there's a lot of ppl there.

Or am I the only one that feels team-pvp in sirens get a bit chaotic?

it does get chaotic in random teams. I find that you have the most tactic in a team there when you get in a group of peeps that come there regularly or that you know.

I'm starting to cringe when I get picked up by a random team. Where everyones scattered in 7 different directions and I'm forced to chase em down to give them buffs. It horrible, unlike when you get in a team where everyone stays semi close together and they know to take advantage of your buffs

I still choose lousy team over solo - safety in numbers and all that. Alot of people are not used to PvP, and even those that are, they tend not to know there team very well. Once as said you get a regular team going you pick up on each other and know what to expect. You learn you teams powers and thus can come up with better tactics.

Sometimes I actually prefer all the chaos and carnage. You can have a lot of fun and a more even contest. You can hunt down the person that took you down etc. However, if they are in a team thats organised, then the chances are that it wont be too much fun (well taking individuals down is much much harder).

Having no tactics is not to bad if the other side are in the same position as you (pick up team or without said tactics) but often its not. You will either be the team thats organised or it will be the enemy. Either way one team tends to dominate.

I usualy offer myself up as bait, or run as cover for who ever is bait.

Though I think to be honest a lot of people team up not to work as a team but to enable better hero coordination

"villains here!"

"where?"

"uhm the corner of x street and y park"

or

"They on me!!!!!" (Everyone looks on map).

I tend to feel guilty after a while in a team too, unless the villains are really putting up a good fight..sometimes it can seem quite harsh when the team is cutting down villain after villain using good team tactics, and lets not forget some people call team work "gang killing"

If Im in a team I just need one "wingman" (Dmonique) and the rest are just distraction as we surgically work our way through

just gimme my faithful empath to spam fortitude on me and watch the villains drop

but indeed most teams are just "scout teams" where they shout "enemies here!!" where they gang up and kill em.

I always think most effective teams are bout 4/5 ppl max, as its easy to keep track of em and can result in good team work.

Yesterday in sirens i fought a ice dom and ice corrupter team, I'd always smash on the dom, the corrupter ran off and tped the dom away to safety. Well, till I just held the dom, watch the corrupter run and then just smash on the corrupter . After that they had to call in some heavy damage support to take me down heh

Ahhhhhhhh it was you. Heavy damage support = 4/5 villains pummeling away. Man you take one hell of a beating.

Last nite was very fun though (can't believe how late people are staying on now) even though in the mass battles lasted about 3 seconds.

The only tactics we had last nite was kill the damn empaths. Having two of them meant we got no where as heros were constantly buffed and healed.

Random teams are never going to be as good as a team of people who work together often.

But I'll still take a random team over being solo, it's just more fun.

Depends, as everyone says, on who you're with.

When my SG are PvPing, we're all on Teamspeak and our tactics tend to be more fluid and thought up on the spur of the moment (I've lost count of the times when Imaginary or Nightbringer have said "OK, here's what we're going to do...." mid fight). If I'm duoing with Powernova, we have definite tactics to win the fight and keep people locked down etc.

If you look at the S4 demos you can see that most (if not all) the teams had a definite set of tactics, and that's only at Bantamweight. Tactics tend to get more advanced the higher up in levels you go.

So where can I get my hands on the s4 demos?

well last night was a good night tacticswise for my heroes team. We had a solid team of 8 and picked certain people to form up on depending on the situation (ie lots of stalkers formed up on the storm troller). In saying that our basic tactic was to stay together. It was only when we spread out that the villains actually got to pick us off. So don't worry there are people out there that atleast ry tactics. I found it worked best if you had someone calling the shots (was me last night) reminding people where to be as Ive noticed some guys get so involved in a battle they drift so its good to have someone to 'remind' them of there positioning in the team Hope I get to team with some of those guys again was a great night.

If the thread containing them has gone (and I think it has), I can send you the ones I have of our team over MSN (which you can find on the SG forums).

I do love teaming with people who know their tactics, but as a Stalker in pvp I tend to hunt alone mostly. Best thing to do with a Stalker who knows his trade in a team, is let him do what he does best. I don't need someone screaming in my ear.

Actually a stalker can be very very good if they have a dominator calling the shots. A dom can hold everything since have those nasty toggle drops and a stalker or two backing him up makes an excellent team.

Sadly Dominators are thin on the ground in the PVP zones only Winter the Black seems to be in there regularly
