Hami Strats - Revisions/ Ideas

Hello, luvs

I bring tidings from Union.

I think it is obvious to the informed that the EU servers are not easily going to eliminate Hamidon.

So, it's about time we seriously started discussing our alternatives. I also think we need to take a chapter from Chaplin's book, and collaborate between servers. (Since I don't speak either French or German, this is going to kind of exclude them a bit, unfortunately If a concerned forum member, who happens to be multilingual, could spread the love ? )

There really isn't any communal home for this post, I felt, so I'll stick to the server I play on, namely Union. If you feel you can / would like to contribute, please do.

Raiders cannot win, especially not when the mapserver for The Hive is on Hamidon's side and it choses to aid Hamidon by resetting itself, as witnessed during every recent Hamidon raid on Defiant.

Just wait for I7 or for another update to try again

Or come up with a new idea rather than doing the same thing over and over and over again.

At the last raid somebody was shouting about having mind controllers confuse the mitos

Is this possible? Are they effected by that sort of thing?

If they aren't, are the giant monsters? - Would it be worth taking them into the bubble? A team could consist of a couple of mind trolls, a tank, kinetics or rad and empaths. Another team could accompany them that would have scrappers/blasters and empaths, who could keep the hp undere control on the confused subjects.

Also, you could have the usual suspects attacking the mitos that are too high for ground attacks.

the obvious flaw to this would be
1) The confused GMs would attack each other
2) Niether GMs or Mitos can be confused in which case I have just wassted your time and mine

Also, if we cant get enough numbers frequently enough lets head out to TS to try out new things with all the servers

I was planning on trying out something similar to this, And I was gonna organise something on the test server to try it out, depending when my sub expires.

count me in, would like to look at something else for hami.

although the previous approach is reasonably effective I am always willing to try something new to add a bit of variety

Another thing I did notice during one of the raids was that when the rads had the LRs and the other toggle on hami, is nrg was down to about half, and that was just during the holding phase so there wasn't much dmg goin on.

Surely if thats the case then we could just 'season to taste' with scrappers and blasters for a quick finish

The Yanks have already tested the viability of confuse in terms of the Swarms and herding them towards Hammi as this will:

1) do -regen &
2) do -teleport. A theory came from their boards in which when Hammi spawns mitos, does he teleport them into the zone?

The 'Silver Bullet' theory is also proving to be nothing but the Devs attempting to muddy the waters a little bit. Got to admit though, theres a few strange things in the Hive that are there without explanation.

I personally don't think using confuse on either Hammi or GMs will result in anything less than disaster. The GMs & Hammi have resistance to such powers and stacking confuse will be quite a task, plus you would need somebody who excelled at herding GMs.

Its definatly getting close to a time whereby new tactics should be attempted. The only issue I foresee is the zone resets which haven't been formally explained which leads me to the conclusion that they haven't been fixed yet.

So what did yanks conclude from their testing?

Personally I believe confusing Mitos could be possible but how would it be useful? Unless we confuse a whole lot of them and they take Hami core down by themselves? That sounds like a bit of a stretch.. Otherwise the Mitos need to get taken down anyway for us to get near and hack Hami core down.

Maybe confusing Mitos would speed up the Mito-clearing stage in the holdless strategy..

Ive seen plenty of Mitos held - they just get taken down so quickly one scarcely notices.. If they can be held they can be confused..

PS. whats this 'silver bullet' theory?

EDIT: Hey I got an idea.. If we use confused Mitos to take Hami down past the spawning threshold - there would be very little heroes in the bubble - very few more Mitos to clear.. Problem might be how to prevent Mitos from killing each other..

Its not fixed, Managed to crash it yesterday with two people.

Is that two player scenario that crashes the mapserver for The Hive something that is reproducable and can be described to support to have a look at? Getting The Hive fixed needs to happen before another raid, tbh. If it's reproducable scenario then that may be the best hope we have.

Am I right to believe the US shards have no issues with The Hive mapserver resetting?

It seemed to just be random, All we did was die in the bubble and use a couple of awakens

At this point, confusing mitos is worth a try, don't let my doomsayer speak put you off. If it an't been done, test it, who knows what results could be achieved from it.

According to rumour Hammi can be, for want of a better expression, one-shotted (Stalkers, eat your hearts out ). Theres a few bits of weird stuff in the Hive, like the cave with no door, the blocking lines of GMs with Lvl42/3 DEs wandering amongst them or the Portal base which is devoid of any GMs.

Some Americans claim that killing approximately 13+ GMs within the vicinity of the NW base reveals a switch that brings up a blue hand, but does nothing. A couple of weeks ago we tested this within the Hive, with a small clearance team (many thanks to those who turned up without any idea what they were there for), but nothing appeared and we searched the area throughly for any kind of switch or 'handy' type object but to no avail.

It could be just stuff left over from an idea the Devs had for a TF in the zone and now are just refusing to answer straight in order to create a bit of mystery and interest with Hammi. Who knows? Only the Devs can answer and they an't talking..

Raids on Union have been pretty stable. Only time I've seen the Hive crash, and Hami go awol, was when roughly 50+ toons went to the Hospital at the same time after a mass suicide.

It's a pity you guys seem to be experiencing frequent problems.

At any rate, some of us on Union are busy exploring all our options for raiding. We've got everything from it-can't-be-done to freaky conspiracy theories involving alien spaceships. I'm hopinh for a middle ground
