Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Greek!
Do you feel that the Devs have wasted effort on PvP?
-> Yup. They took far too long to 'balance' things.
Do you feel it is a waste that PvP exists?
-> Nope. Coz it most likely kept more players in the game that prolly would have left if they weren't given something more to do than start a new Alt.
Do you feel that the majority defines that everything but PvE is a waste?
-> Eeeesh. Get some sleep TG. Like at least 8 hrs a night! PvE in CoX* is so lame that it doesn't surprise me that a group of ppl prefer to PvP. Theres no real challenge within the PvE aspect, whereas PvP offers a real knife-edge get-ya-blood-flowing experience which is not matched in any other part of the game.

they dont realise that atm it's the only NON REPETITIVE content they got instead of forcing people to the Alt end game (ffs alts as end game!)

Agree 100% with that statement. -
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, WoW is so much more fun thou
If it involves hanging around Atlas wid da olde posse then I'm game! No mishes thou, this game seriously needs to work on its 'fun factor'
Still waiting for that Swedish blonde TG -

The PDs have heavy Hammi experience, but not many of the older members play anymore. We can give you the strategy that *does* work with a couple of variations to speed up getting that HO. Prolly about time to hand over the info anyways before all the PDs are gone for good.

Basically, this will never, ever happen with current plan. We need the Illusion Controllers to be dropping PA from above, they can hardly be expected to come down every couple of minutes to rebuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. The server is still going to be calculating the buff on x number of players anyways. Lag is caused by proximity of players plus whatever buffs/debuffs that are running on the group (amongst other things).
PB, ya need to be thinking along more 'technical' lines if you want to reduce lag. Removing capes and auras is something that has been proven to work on both sides of the Atlantic and doesn't involve ppl running around activating powers in crowded areas (which in turn increases said lag). -
So many memories. Who would of thought that Bad Sector would have evolved into something quite chavtastic.
Summer is just around the corner, I *will* make it to Denmark soon(ish) I promise. May those Jutland lasses be as easy as your kiwi sounding gf claimed they were/are! -

But think of it this way - if they're not making us laugh, then what is the point of a Blaster?
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you saying that Blasters are comedians first and hunter killers second? -
Heh, I still remember my first raid, being told Defenders cossies were in blue. You *just* about fulfilled that criteria Mommma

TG, is your avatar Swedish?
Can't take my ruddy eyes off it!!!! Damn you!!! *shakes fist in air before going back to watch avatar* -

This is all well and fine if u haven't altered your pre lvl 20 cossie. My guy being a robot always seemed to have something missing then I got the auras and now I have the same star burst glow eyes on all my cossie. It makes my character look alive, like you can see more into him throw his eyes now and I don't really want to lose the effect.

Hang on. Your entire argument is based on......vanity?! -

Psychic Mastery: would like to take at least 3 if not all from this area, although which three is debateable.
[/ QUOTE ] never really seen this as useful for offenders tbh, the group sleep will be pretty pointless if you are going to wake them all up with your rain of arrows/fistful of arrows
[/ QUOTE ]
Thought Psy would be useful for an Offender? Sure the mass sleep is pretty useless for anything other than sneaking past mobs, but Dominate is a MaG 3 hold that does good dam for a defender in comparison to their secondry, MoB is nice toggle dam res and TK is hold/repel, handy for PvP or PvE for pushing grps into corners or as a panic button if things get a little too hecktic. -
Quick answer. No.
Are you refering to the empath dropping the buff? With Heals there is no supression. On Fort, it will stop SS & fly in their tracks (to my knowledge) but with SJ it will actually do the animation while you are still 'airborne', keeping stationary groundtime to a minimum.
Edit: Sry, shoulda said clearer, it stops you from moving with fly & SS while it does the animation for a brief moment but their is no supression when moving off afterwards. -
I got PB as soon as it was available. Only time I got held was inbetween the gaps before I got Quickness combined with Hasten (its currently 2 slotted recharge DOs).
I'm surprised that Quickness is being taken so late. I love that power also, like Hasten but without the End drop-off. Got quickness at lvl20 and now have Stam Lvl22.
Also, Agile is a passive isn't it? I waited for my passives until a bit later, due to advice from a friend, although my previous SR build did include passives early, not that it made much difference to my defence post lvl 15. -
Damn u Capt for having 2 HOs in there
Having Tactics does appear to make a difference to the amount held. Powerboost can also buff the holds that CC is chucking out.
Another thing of note is that its not just the baddies within the cloud. If you run about, anything that *was* in the Cloud also gets a ToHit roll on them, so its possible to hold things outside the PBAoE, of course it won't be able to stack, but its a handy tactic to use, and pretty much gets everything if your running Tactics.
Although, I'm just saying on this thread, the 'Whether or not Tactics is bad/good' thread is currently on the Players Guides board.. -
Arrrrrrrrrrgh, this changes the whole balance of the cosmos. Gona have to start treating you with..err..respect or something..

im too questioning these all powerful 'healers' who look down on and attempt to belittle defenders for <gasp> using their secondaries!
[/ QUOTE ]
Wasn't you that said it Psygon, but 3 replies to my post all following a similar thinking indicated the same thing. Apparently I am a 'powerful healer' who looks down and attempts to belittle others, rather than someone who is giving their opinion based on their own experience and advice being given to me by others. Is the above comment fair?

why anyone would want to kit their empath out with 'a few attacks'
[/ QUOTE ]
....as opposed to taking from their primary pool.
Sry, the above is completely my fault. I had assumed, (something one should never do) that others would fill in the rest of the sentence. I hate posting long posts because I have a tendancy to waffle and prefer to keep them short for the benefit of everyone. Back to what I actually meant, powers involving holds etc, like Telsa (which incidently we use to hold Krackon with in conjuction with a Controller while hunting in the sewer mish) is an excellent power to use for a Defender. Also Tesla is an excellent way of indicating when Hammi is held to the holding team during a raid. Knockback is also handy and so on. A Defender kitting themselves out in order to achieve something close to a blaster, a hero version of a corrupter, is just pure madness IMO. I have 4 attacks on my lvl 50, I just don't need anymore and he's been respec'd for PvP play as well.
Sometimes I see empaths acting more like blasters than healers, which personally I find a great shame because they could do far more with a blaster rather than a defender. But the choice is up to the person themselves, if they want to get most of the secondry rather than the primaries I figure that they are going to have a harder time getting their toon to a higher level, as well as have a few probs being picked up for teams. Empathy primary is for team play, and teams rather have the buffs and heals rather than gimped dam output. -
Ugh...thats not what I meant. Lemmi explain as its been clearly missed. Choosing attacks (Secondries) to miss buffs/heals (Primaries) is not a very good idea.
Crystal? I did say in a previous post about 'Cherry picking' your attacks, in other words, pick and choose those attacks which work to maximum benefit for you and your team. Hence Tesla which I found invaluable during my stint to 50.
Now we have that cleared up, is it possible that we can return to the debate in hand without attempting to put words in other peoples mouths? -
I'm in complete agreement with you Shannon with everything you've said. Buffing allows you a little grace period in which you don't have to race in with the heals. Fort is pretty easy to keep cycled, whereas CM is a bit of a pain to keep stacked on everyone when everything is a bit hecktic. I tend to jump over a tank or scrapper if I'm being aggro'd, as tanks will naturally draw aggro and scrappers tend to be beating something up which also attracts anything in pursuit.
Although I'm a bit lost as to why anyone would want to kit their empath out with 'a few attacks' seeing as both Acc & Dam is inferior to all other ATs on a Defender. Seems that its better to play a blaster and pick up Self Aid, or play a */Rad defender in which you can improve the amount of Dam that you do. -
[ QUOTE ]
however, personally i put it on blasters rather than tanks. they need the def, acc and dmg much more vs an av than a tank does imo
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I should of clarified. I can Fort tank, blasters & scrappers, depending on team makeup, hence if I'm continually Forting 3 diff ATs or players, then it moves Fort from the 'unneeded' to the 'needed' category. -
[ QUOTE ]
imo, CM and fortitude are not NEEDED as such, but they are very useful powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fort gives 25-30% base buff on Acc, Def & Dam, and thats *not* needed?? I've been playing with my SR scrapper with a very good empath keeping me buffed with Fort. I'm telling you, its the difference between killing loads and face planting. I certainly wouldn't expect a tank to take the aggro from an AV without dropping some Fort on them first either.... -
Aye, not to mention Lost at the lower lvls with AoE sleep holds. Madness Mages & Ruin Mages in the Hollows are evil and thats lvl 5 to 17(ish).
Only ATs with their own mez protection wouldn't need CM, which seems to indicate that DG has never teamed with other Defenders, Blasters or Controllers.. -
Use to be 25% to my knowledge quite some time ago, not sure whether they've played around and changed it since then thou...

The one power I did get rid of was clear mind.
In most teams my defender ran with beig caught in a hold/sleep was not much of a problem...And Frankly I found proton volly more useful
[/ QUOTE ]
This is something I don't understand. Imo, clear mind is one of the MUST take empathy powers, and even if I was to drop the rest of the entire set, clear mind is the power I'd probably choose above all the others.
[/ QUOTE ]
agreed, in pve it is essential for all squishies imo and in pvp its essential for the whole team due to the +perception
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but he did say that he runs as a medic and not a buffing machine. So you gota feel sorry for the teams he joins as they won't be getting any Fort, AB, RA or Regen, let alone CM.... -
ahhhh, right, sorry. So use to calling them mitos that I hadn't even considered that there could be another expression for them.
From what I gather, leaving any mythos in the goo will not prevent mythos spawning at the 4 spawn points when Hammi's health goes down. You did right though with following the hold strategy, 200 off mythos spawning on top of each other would have crippled your server
And well done on the HOs. Its difficult to ensure that number of people get one while trying to eliminate lag, but as long as everyone gets to hit Hammi once, everyone should get one.
