At midnight on New Year's Eve...

She'd be one of those scary ones with fangs. We could do something really terrible, like a responsible adult!

You wouldn't...
Minako as a responsible adult is just scary, almost as scary as Minako with a car....
Oh wait...
I'd edit my post to make it clearer but there's not really much point anyway - he'd have quit sooner or later anyway, come to think of it.
World of Jackcraft.
I'm assuming Miss Ellie, having met both Nevermore and Drake, will still know who he is, both due to his scent and his aura.

Hey, you know, we actually need a reason for Crow and Nevermore to be friends. The weird thing is that, until Amelia was kidnapped by her father, they didn't really know each other. Crow asked Nevermore for help, and so they became friends... until Nevermore knicked his girl.
They need to be friends before Chill comes into play. And can anyone remember why she grabbed Crow anyway?

Dammit, you're right!
Lady Chill grabbed Crow because he knew who Nevermore really was, and she wanted that information.
And yes, FFM, Miss Ellie will still know. The question is, has she said anything about it to Nevermore?
Well... In the current timeline, she did once make mention to him about scent and pheremones, causing him to add an extra doodad to his suit to hide his scent... She never mentioned the aura though... Not that it can be disguised, and AFAIK, not too many non-kheldians can see body energy fields as an aura... They're quite distinctive...

Nevermore does indeed conceal his scent and pheremones. He can't conceal his aura, and many people can detect that.
Actually, you can conceal your aura, if you know what you're doing. Ages ago, Crow offered to make Nevermore a device to do it, but then Nevermore knicked Crow's girlfirned...
The effect is not so much to conceal the aura as to obscure it. We've used it on a few villains, and Crow was set up to use the same trick when in costume prior to becoming just Dafydd.
Since Nevermore didn't know the trick with the auras until Crow pointed it out, and he probably wouldn't twig the scent trick until Ellie pointed it out, we can assume that both Crow and Ellie know the 'secret'. Crow made it patently clear that he didn't give a monkey's who Nevermore was when he first met Alan Drake. I think that might have cememnted their friendship a little; "I know, but it's safe with me."
Since Crow would know who Nevermore is, Chill could still have captured him for that information, and I guess we just need to say they worked on a case together, it just won't be Amelia's kidnapping.

As i have said to most of you planning this, I have seen this done many times and in many ways. Some have worked some have not. I wish you luck.
I made my points clear to birdy the other day and i think i see some of them in his posts, thanks. There are still a few things i dont like about it, and a few things i need to think on, But at the end of the day the main reason your doing this is for fun. You gain nothing. I would like to remind any who will listen that to most of you these guys are friends right? Just cut them some slack and try and roll with it as much as possible?
I have had very strong events linked with all three of thoes toons. Its only Nevermore im confused about. Wordy can you get in touch? We still have a lot to talk about anyway dont we? I dont know how you want to play this one.
See... ya try to make a character nicer, and all you end up with is trouble. Better to just kill everyone, and then there are no character interaction problems.

Hmm, since this time, Nevermore didn't steal Star , we can probably go with War Crow having either shown Nevermore how to conceal his aura, or given him a device to do so.
Ringmaster, PM on its way.
Oh I wouldn't worry about a PM.. Jester won't be around at New Year.. He'll be too busy being dead...

For those interested, background for the 'new' versions of War Crow and Stargazer:
War Crow and Stargazer got together not long after she appeared in the
city. Neither is particularly secretive about their heroic activities, but
neither goes out of their way to have their private life displayed on the
front pages either. Most people who have known them for a while know both
their heroic and real identities.
War Crow made a bit of a name for himself after rescuing some local garage
mechanic and his family from the Clockwork. By the time he got his face on
TV after rescuing the staff of a TV station, Stargazer was working
extensively with him. Some newspapers consider the couple photogenic, and
their exploits aren't difficult to follow in the newspapers and nightly
HeroNews reports on TV.
Having been one of the first heroes to heed The Prize's call to arms, War
Crow was quite well known around those who meet at Galaxy Girl. Something
of a loner, he helps where he can, being particularly known for his
extensive knowledge of magic. He and Nevermore have been friends since
those early days and various people have wondered why he never joined the
Vigil. In his mundane life, Dafydd Cerwys is a courier, taking valuable,
secure, or dangerous packages to places around Paragon City.
Stargazer did first appear as Crow's sidekick, but her talent for healing
and her physical presence brought her quickly out from under his shadow.
Her private life is rather better hidden than Crow's. It is known that she
works at the hospital in King's Row, but she probably has another job she
keeps quieter. She's known to work closely with the Vigil on occasion, but
still maintains a hero-licence. This seems more something that has come
from the friendship between War Crow and Nevermore then being officially
tied to them. Those who are her close friends, such as the Rolando family,
know she is still working part time as an exotic dancer in a club in
Kings's Row, where Amelia Careros started when arriving in the city early
2005.
Neither Crow, nor Star have been around GG much for months. Apparently
their work, both heroic and mundane, has kept them away. There will surely
be a few new faces who haven't met them before.

An accurate summation; as you'll discover when we get the fiction out. First draft is written, btw. Needs to be fiddled with. Probable release sometime this week.

Oh, we decided not to turn Miss Ellie into an Orangutan, since she appears to have been turned into a cabbage anyway.

Okay, here's the general idea of the changes which will be happening to Nevermore. If anyone has any questions or queries about how their characters might be effected, or even just want to have something explained or clarified, please feel free to PM me.
Alan Drake is the son of billionaire entrepreneur and altruist Victor Drake, and Paragon City councillwoman Melissa Drake. They died 15 years ago, gunned down in a drive-by shooting by unknown assailants.
Victor Drake was the original Nevermore, though anyone with knowledge of Nevermor's background will find evidence of a long legacy of warriors who took on the raven mantle down through history. Nevermore always operated just a little bit outside of the rules, though never crossing certain boundaries. His oath against killing was famous.
Victor trained Alan from a young age to replace him as Nevermore one day. When his parents were killed, Alan at first turned away from the duty he had sworn to, and refused to put on the mask. He went to Harvard, tried to live a normal life. When that failed, he travelled the world, searching for purpose. Eventually, after the Rikti War, Alan realised his destiny lay in Paragon City, and returned there to make Nevermore live again.
The above is the new modified background to Nevermore. He still does not operate with a Hero Licence, but now he never had one to begin with. This means the pinning of his licence to the doors of City Hall never happened. He just understood that there were certain things that needed to be done by someone who would not be answerable to a bureaucracy. The Police and even Freedom Corps grudgingly admit that Nevermore is effective, and while his methods are not approved of, there is no concerted effort to bring him in for questioning.
Nevermore's identity is actually known to several members of the hero community. Whether through past associations with his father, Alan understands the need to be on good terms with other heroes, or simply because he has become friends with them, many know the man behind the mask.
In other words, if you want to be one of the people who knows who he is, PM me. I'd actually like a fair number of people to know, so I have reason to bring him to GG for social reasons, in or out of costume.
As regards the plot events which happened to Nevermore...
Rachel Swan is not dead. She was rescued from Ripper by Nevermore and Zortel, though she and Alan did split up, anyway, for other reasons. She does know who Nevermore is.
The Lady Chill plot happened almost exactly as it did before, with War Crow being captured and everything, though obviously did not end with Nevermore and Stargazer falling for each other. I'll be posting the stories again, adapted somewhat to show just how they have ended differently. That'll happen after New Year's.
The Salmarien plot didn't happen at all.
The Masquerade plot did happen, but without Masquerade's taunting of Stargazer/Aluria.
As regards Vigil membership:
Nevermore is still the leader
Alex Reed/Ravensclaw is still a member, and was Nevermore's first apprentice, and founding member of the Vigil.
White Warlock is still a member.
Zortel is still a member
Anything else regarding membership still needs to be discussed.
Basically what I want to do with Nevermore is give him reason to be at the statue, and the ability to interact with other characters without needing a reason like gathering information or asking for help. I'm lowering the angst and brooding in favour of a more relaxed character, both as Nevermore and as Alan Drake.
At the moment, my inspirations for how each side of Nevermore will behave are:
Alan Drake: Michael Douglas in "The American President"
Nevermore: Christian Bale in "Batman Begins"
