A bind every MM should have...

/bind rshift+button1 "team sorry folks, Damn pets just aggroed another mob... "

I can pretty much guarantee that on certain maps, then my bots WILL draw excess aggro from another spawn, due to their inability to be told NOT to use AoE. Not that it causes too many problems with my regular team mates, but it can occasionally be irritatin to be constantly saying over TS 'Balls... Sorry folks, bots just aggroed that group over there, incoming...'

This is not a rant, this is not a whine, this is not a demonstration of my lack of bot control. I just felt the need to vent Although it may be a thinly diguised dig at the level design and spawn density in certain maps

A thing every MM should learn:

Place your (stay) bots/undeads/ninjas/mercs around a bend, move to the mobs and pull them to you and wipe the floor with them, no more running into other mobs...

Not a good idea against certain mobs, in that you risk being held, and thus unable to tell your minions to come and save your squishy behind. Also not possible in a lot of maps, due to open areas with multiple mobs and no corners to hide your minions behind.

Place your henchmen behind the corner, then send a lone 1st Tier henchman in to aggro the mobs, before recalling him to you around the corner (and lay down a Tar Patch on said corner if you're /Dark).

Don't know about you but I have no problem telling my pets what to do when held. Used it in Warburg several times to get an over confidant Controller

Here's something I learned the hard way yesterday, playing my MM:

We came into a longbow base and stood around chatting. So, I targeted a longbow to it's level and started chatting while having him still in target. I guess that would have gone good unless I hadn't typed something that contained the letter "k"... yes... the letter "k" is bound for my "merc's go aggressive and attack my target". This mistake started a fight that aggro'd more mobs and in the end me and a team mate ended up kissing the floor.

(Still at least I learned something from that mistake... never to chat with an enemy in target!)

(Somehow I could not edit my previous post :P )

I know I can't controll my pets while held, at least not in PvE.

I have to agree on that one. Although my robo pets dont start to wonder so easily, there is that damned pet number 2 who thinks that he is a tank, and the whole party wants him to go in melee. "what the hell just happened???" "sorry guys, one of my bots has gone mental and went in melee mode"
It has raised some interesting thoughts as well, why only 1 bot at a time, why not all of them. Is this a bug? Somekinda great idea that the Dev's have had? But it sure has made sure that my gameplay is done very carefully. And i would like to think that i can now control my pets without getting that extra aggro. :/

V True, but who else can we count on to bring some fun and debt our way?

Very strange I can both in PvP and in PvE, or could last time I played them, so maybe its been patched out in the last few patches. Haven't played in 10 days or so (not my MM anyway)

It was patched out near release - your henches will continue reacting as per their last commands, but new commands will not take hold until you are released.

This does not count for Fear or Immob as far as I am aware - cases where you can still normally attack you can still issue commands.

As for drawing unwanted aggro, you just need tighter control of your henches. Use Defensive rather than Aggressive, put in Ctrl+Click binds for Goto so you can reign in individual henches, and of course, hover on the ever hand heel/follow command for when your henches get out of line of sight.
