Congratulations heroes of Defiant. We did well in the Siren's call event. We had a huge turnout, however there seemed to be less in the way of villains, apart from in one particular hotspot.

Secondly, to these people who complain about unbalanced PvP. PvP is for fun! You get killed by a hero/villain, you don't get debt. No harm done so therefore, why does everyone complain?

Just my two pence.

Let's see... Would you LIKE a game of cards, if you knew your opponent had a major advantage (I don't know... he get's more cards or something)? Not for money, for fun. Would you like such a game? I know I wouldn't.

I'm on Union, and I'm not even going to bother with the event. I'm not suprised heroes won.

I played both sides and at the height of it there were at least 300 heroes spread out over the 3 Sirens Call zones and only 120 villains. The lack of numbers and dynamics were annoying but the server performace was pathetic IMO

Bah, equality shmallity. He's right on 2 things its debtless and its fun.Heroes won this time but its not always gonna be like that so why get so disheartnened? Its only as hard as you make it - and plz no one turn this into yet another anti-stalker thread.

The lag was horrific tonight though, i enjoyed myself although it was hard to target and click powers. If anything spoilt it its that.

Ahh... typical response of someone who could play as the winning side... Hold on, as the "winning always so far" side. Throw balance out of the window, and leave it as it is, cos we're winning anyway, so why get angry? It's just a game! So what that one team will have an advantage, it's for Fun (fully deserved the capital F)!

(In case you didn't notice- I was being sarcastic)

The lag was bad, too bad for me to go anywhere near the villains base, but had some EPIC battle further out. Got my ar5e handed to me countless times but only after a valient effort, and for me, that's what PvP is all about

ok i dident play more than a few muinets cos of the lag, but i woud like to say 1)stop complaining, its not the end of the world just lv up and get revenge next time, and 2) that was so fun

Lag was bad, but had some fun.
Started off near the vs base trying to entice some out, eventualy one popped out and nailed me.
After that I dared to do hotspots and combat the evil Lag beast.. defeated 6 Vs defeated twice more by them so not bad for me

The annoying lvl of broadcast froth was aggravating..and sometimes I just wish we could target other heroes, some of them needed a good blasting....try to tell me what to do bah!!

In the end the lag was just to bad, no point fighting if you never see what kills you or when your attacks happen

The lag was pretty bad, but the event was fun.

In Defiant I played with a level 25 tank in Siren's 1, and it was a massacre. The villains were so badly outnumbered that I could barely reach them to hit them before they were dead.

In Union I played with my (level 47) blaster in Siren's 4, and the difference in numbers wasn't as bad. The villains won several hotspots and kicked us hard a few times. But at the end we overwhelmed them. After fighting for half an hour at the doors of their base I got tired and left (to RP at GG!). I also got auto-killed a few times with no damage registered, I imagine that by invisible base defenses. Very annoying.

It was fun, but not huge fun. I don’t think I will join this kind of events often, it lacked variety and the lag was very nasty even with minimal graphic options. I think smaller battlegrounds with more interesting goals (and rewards) would be far better for PvP stuff.

Final PvP score in Union: 13.3, and no idea if that is good or bad :-)

You know... the lag also doesn't surpise me. Do you remember the event at the end of the CoV beta? The one where massive numbers of Longow troops would spawn in Mercy for everyone to beat up on? That also caused lag like hell... The general response from those whoe defended the game was that "it's beta". Well, it was the end of the beta. And now, this is the final version. I have a strage feeling that the devs didn't learn anything from that expierience.

I took some screenshot, I can post them here and if you look at them quickly enough, it will be like you were there watching my pc

Well my take on the battle, was it actually started off ok. I got owned a few times as a squishy dominator waiting for the rest of my team to turn up but hey.

Eventually we all went into sirens 3, was only place we could all get in. Anyway wasn't too bad, to start not too laggy, had a couple of nice fights, slightly outnumbered but none the less good scraps.

Then sadly it all got lagalicious, a huge orange army stomped up to the villain base and trashed the defences. Even sure some of the arbiter drones were mission (though that could have been graphics lag by that time). Though bout the time, I started ending up in hospital abd being dead by time my screen refreshed kinda ended the event for me.

All-in-al, think it was a nice idea, but needs a better execution (and server).

Just as a thought, might have worked better if in each instance the number of villains or heroes entering was capped?

Eg 100 total people in zone.

50 heroes and 50 villains. Would probably have made for a much nicer fight.

"I'm sorry Fic your number 51, could you go to counter 2 please"

Indeed - it did seem as if there is an arbitrary cap on the number of players each zome will hold, but not a cap per side - quite an obvious oversight if it was the case.

Also while I personally think the 'event' was actually a usefuls stress-test and not much more, I don't think I would participate in another. It was all totally random, with heroes and villains everywhere, just mindlessly zerging. It was like the old days of DAOC revisited.

As a MM I was worried I was going to be utterly pwned, as I have read various pieces advising that we are a bit too squishy for PvP, but I have to say my pets reaped a healthy toll on the enemy, probably because people wanted to focus on actual enemy players and so ignored my pets. Which spanked them.

Oh, and semi-congratulations to the game itself - last night was the first time my PC has struggled since I built it - my FX-53 and 2x6800GT's were straining to the limit to keep any kind of frame-rate.
