new stormie
Don't have a Stormie myself, but I've heard Tenebrous Tentacles from Dark Blast is a good compliment to some of the powers in Storm, as it roots them in place and prevents them scattering all over the place (like they do with freezing rain). I would get Snowstorm, Freezing Rain, Hurricane (those blasted Tsoo Sorcerers convinced me this is a good power to have), Steamy Mist, O2 Boost from the primary, the other stuff a bit more optional.
From Dark Blast definitely get Tenebrous Tentacles and Nightfall, these two cones together damage, immobilse and debuff a nice sized group and recharge fast. Dark Pit gives you a decent low mag aoe stun (will stun all minions it hits, maybe lts too), and has a better range than the Storm stun, Thunderclap. Needs a lot of slotting to be worth it though. Its acc and recharge much lower than tentacles, which it works well with. You could also look at Drain Life; the base heal is low and it only affects you, but its the only self heal you get outside of pools.
Thats my advice, I've not made a Stormie but I've teamed with many.

This sounds about right but I would also add the lvl 32 power which I cant remember the name of.
A storm defenders team very well with blasters. Specially when they learn how storm works. I am usually duoing with a blaster on invilcible and are usually doing good.
Great Storm powers that are a must-have: Freezing Rain, Snow Storm and Hurricane.
Tentacles are probably better used after a Freezing Rain/Snow Storm combo (just before the rain runs out). This is because being immobilised by the Tentacles nullifies the knockdown component of the Freezing Rain.
As for the level 32 power - that's Lightning Storm. It's a summon (like a pet) but is stationary and can hit multiple targets if you can get them lined up. Also good for PVP as are toggle-droppers.
Thanks for the tips, i'm looing forward to building this guy up

Well Elec and Dark are the most common.
I've got a sonic stormie at the moment and the -resist gives me the extra damage I need (in teams and soloing). Rad might also be good because of its comparitavly low end costs and -def for your stormie powers.
elec always fits nicely with a stormie, however i guess rad would be great especially if you get freezing rain to have both -def and -res. Also depends if you want to do pvp or pve. In pvp maybe sonic would be nice seeing -res debuffs are pretty rare (rarer than -def at least). Also freezing rain + sonic attacks can totally cripple dmg res. I once teamed with a storm/sonic in warburg, and this inv tank just went down with ease
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"

I'd like to make a stormy so i'm building a new defender with dark blast as his second set. I'd like to PvE and PvP, does anyone have any advice? I normally build chars then realise later on i made a big mistake near the start :P
