Fire/Kin - Level 37 Respec Build
yes, dropping your invis in a mob is bout closest you can get to drawing a big target on yourself waving your arms shouting "over here! pick me!". On a slightly more serious note, as soon as you drop invis, you will get aggro. It well then come down to who can react fastest, you or the mob. As soon as the mob hits an attack it doesnt matter if you run, turn invis or whatever, once its started nothing can be done about it anymore.
Also with the recharge time on invis id say stealth/ss is the safest way to go.
About the rest of your build, I'm afraid I dont have too much expertise when it comes down to fire trollers.
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
I suppose I could work do up a bind/macro that would drop Invis and put Cinders on Auto. I'll just have to test it out.
Anyone else got comments on the build overall. From what I've seen of Fire/Kins and even just Fire/ it seems to be pretty bog standard. Just a few pool choices.
I'd stick at least one recharge in the imps too, Handy to have it back a little quicker incase you lose an imp or two.
I got a lvl 50 Fire Kin and may i say what a fab choice u have made i would get plenty of control powers and allow ur imps and fire blast powers to do the dmg.. i would also recommend Smoke as this can allow you to get right up to them and Cinder them or fulcrum them etc.. its quite a useful power altho some may disagree. Also.. Consume and Transferance? I think ur overdoing it on the end drain / return. Maybe a few time reductions in one and dropping the other? This could make room for Smoke..
They r the best char ive played so far mate nice one

Thanks for the replies so far.
As far as smoke goes, that's why I'm picking up Stealth, or Invis. With SS + Stealth I can have complete invis. and can walk up to a mob and Cinders/FS etc.
Having both Transference and Consume is gonna be needed. Running CJ, Accro, Hot Feet, Fire Shield and attacks. I might not take Consume, but I won't be taking smoke as I'll definately have an invis.
Yeah i see your point but i will also point out the acc debuff on smoke as this may keep you and your imps alive longer.. I'm not sure of the figures tho maybe sum1 could point them out. Good build tho
I'm almost 37 and gonna respec. Everything will stay the same apart from one power. I tried Invis over stealth and it'd be way too much hassle to use.
The power I'm taking out is grant invis, even with only SB and ID I'm too much of a buff bot for my liking. What to replace it with I'm not totally sure. I might take Ring of Fire for an Imob to use on AV's - other than that I'm not sure.
One, sometimes two applications of fire cages will hold an AV in place, no need to take an extra power if you allready have cages.
Some love smoke, some don't. I don't. It helps when you want to stealth a mish but you (and me) have the actual stealth power for that. The -acc debuff is tiny AFAIK so I never bothered with it.
With Superspeed, don't take invis. Stealth + ss = invis only you can keep attacking .
As for the endurance recovery, fire/kin is a very active set. I doubt you'll be able to keep going, even with both consume and tranference if you do not include stamina. Transference is good but I burn threw end alot faster then TF can recharge and Consume takes even longer to recharge and you only get it at lvl 49.
Hot Feet bites IMHO but, like smoke, it has it's uses (double damage from containment).
Hot Feet, as I said I'm still not sure about. I think I do wanna take it though.
Stamina I'm not gonna take for this respec, I could probably work it in, and I know I'm gonna suffer, but I know an Earth/Kin who suffered a bit with End. after dropping Stamina but after picking up Consume it sorted things out.
I have at least one more respec I can earn before 44, and with the 2nd Respec TF being so easy, if I need to I can run through and respec again.
Just about to hit 37 so I'm gonna go for this build, dropping Grant Invis and picking up... I dunno, Repel (for pure comedy value) or Whirlwind as it's pretty good in PvP with the whole not being rooted during attacks.
I personally really like Smoke. In those big team missions where the mobs spawn very close to one another an application of this power pretty much removes their unwanted attention unless they are actually attacked or someone literally walks into melee range with them. Sometimes when a few members of the mob get aggroed others will just stand around ignorant of the Scrapper's presence mere feet away from them. Quite handy in my opinion.
Regarding the acc debuff, yes it is relatively negligible, about 15% of the target's acc with 3 SOs as far as I know, but if you have acc debuffs or def buffs in your secondary, it can sometimes be enough to push mobs' acc to that magic 5% chance to hit. So its a skippable power, but I'd certainly miss it from my build.
Skip the Immobs in fire cages and go for damage. The duration is great unslotted. You also need 2 stun duration in flashfire.

Just started a fire Kinetics controller and I think I am going to stick with it. I am up to 18 now . Does anyone have any sample builds they could post as I am not sure of the best way forward and even if i need hasten anymore. I only have siphon speed as a travel power at the moment tho the jetpack was a stroke of good luck for me. What are the bonuses of hot feet I havn taken it as yet and plan to focus on the kinetic side. This is what I have chosen so far I am going for stamina at level 20:
Fire
Char
Fire cages
Flashfire
Cinders
Kinetics:
Transfusion
Siphon Power
Siphon Speed
Hasten(Speed)
Health(Fitness)
Maneuvers(leadership)
This was posted as a build type as well on
http://coh.coldfront.net/index.php/content/view/435/32/
Tho it looks like a pre I6 build as it has six slotted various powers
1: Char, Transfusion
2: Siphon Power
3: +1 Char (2), +1 Siphon Power (2)
4: Fire Cages
5: +1 Char (3), +1 Transfusion (2)
6: Hurdle
7: +2 Char (5)
8: Maneuvers
9: +1 Char (6), +1 Fire Cages (2)
10: Hasten
11: +2 Hasten (3)
12: Flashfire
13: +2 Flashfire (3)
14: Superspeed
15: +1 Hasten (4), +1 Flashfire (4)
16: Swift or Health (your choice)
17: +1 Hasten (5), +1 Flashfire (5)
18: Cinders
19: +1 Hasten (6), +1 Cinders (2)
20: Stamina
21: +2 Stamina (3)
22: Speed Boost
23: +2 Cinders (4)
24: Tactics
25: +1 Cinders (5), +1 Tactics (2)
26: Density Increase
27: +1 Cinders (6), +1 Tactics (3)
28: Inertial Reduction
29: +1 Flashfire (6), +1 Tactics (4)
30: Bonfire
31: +2 Tactics (6), +1 Transfusion (3)
32: Fire Imps
33: +3 Fire Imps (4)
34: +2 Fire Imps (6), +1 Speed Boost (2)
35: Transference
36: +3 Transference (4)
37: +1 Transference (5), +1 Speed Boost (3), +1 Stamina (4)
38: Fulcrum Shift
39: +3 Fulcrum Shift (4)
40: +2 Fulcrum Shift (6), +1 Transfusion (4)
I would say yes, Hasten is very important. Mainly for the AoE control powers. I have 3 on my Fire/Rad (Cinders, Flashfire with Fire cages, EM Pulse), and even with Hasten and Accelerate Metabolism I only just manage to have one of these ready for each battle.

This is my personal lvl 50 respec build. Don't pay attention to the ench. levels because they are wrong.
On my way to 50 I didn't even have siphon speed and took Increase Density at lvl 16 or so. Wanted to respec it out but because the heroes I teamed with knew I could get them out of an hold/sleep/whatever I never did respec .
My fire/storm build which Im pretty happy with. Its great in PvE and has its functions in PvP. I once kicked a lvl50 scrapper [censored] (as lvl42 without exemp.).

My main is a lvl 50 fire/kin controller and is to this day my favorite to play, and the most powerful. I have soloed 9 AV's (ok so 2 i did twice ) and have yet to be beaten in the arena. imho it's the /kin set that makes it uber. Kinetics is about never having to rest and never having to wait, it all about the speed baby!
The keys are;
hasten + siphon speed = virutally perma hasten plus the stacked siphons are nice enough on thier own, not to mention the -spd is a godsend on AVs and bosses
Hover....lets you drop accrob for the KB (the hold res is pretty piffling - all i carry now are Break Free's). Stick in 3 flight speed and use siphon speed and you are very nippy.
Melee. It may sound unsettling for a troller but i play mine as a tank. I get as close to the AV as i can (or just out of his melee range and immob him) so my heals and transfers hit, spam siphon power to lower thier damage and buff mine, and spam transfusion to halt their regen.
When you get to 41 and pick up fireball (no excuse for any other epic really ) the combo of AoE hold, fulcrum shift and fireball (with containment for that double damage) is at the damage cap, so we're talking a mini-nova thats up every 20 or so seconds.
The rest of a fire/kin build is personal choice. I like the SS/inertial reduction travel route myself, and hover is almost never off in a mission. May pick up stealth on next respec, but i dont know what i'd drop for it. Also, i put 3 end in SB and think it may be overkill. Solo it doesn't help your imps apart from the movement and attack rate and in groups it's hard for any well-built teammate to run dry with 1 end mod in it.
P.S. if anyone can tell me how to post a build i will do so (i'm too lazy and stupid to find out myself)

I want him at the shrinking of the tide;

With this tool you can plan any power combination possible. Then you click export and plain short .
Hey guys,
I'm about to hit level 35, but want to start planning this respec now. Waiting till 37 to do it 'cause I'm a cheapskate and I'm gonna sell all my enhancements :P
Anywho, just looking for comments on this build.

There were about 5 or 6 slots that didn't have anywhere to go so they were just thrown in.
In terms of power selections, I want to go down the "Concelement" road, but I'm not sure if I should go Stealth > Grant Invis. or Grant Invis. > Invis.
I much prefer Invis.' look, and the Chest Detail bug that goes a long with stealth sucks.
My big concern is it's actual use - I want stealth for SS+Stealth into middle of a spawn and then hitting Cinders. If I were to do this with Invis. would the time it takes to drop Inivis. and hit cinders be enough for the alpha to hit me?
I'll live with Stealth's drawbacks if Invis. won't let me safely pull that move off.
Apart from that, Hot Feet is a big "if". I'm gonna respec on Test and try it out, as I've never used it fully slotted before. If hot feet goes, then out goes the Leaping line and in with Hover and 2 other Powers.
Anywho, comments on this build are greatly appreciated.
