Quick question about AR/Sonic

I've noticed this combo suffers from the "put your gun away" thing. Is that going to be a really bad/annoying thing in the long run or is it manageable?

Just wondering if I should reroll.

Well, yes, in my opinion. When you see the slightly new characters with certain combo slower moves (let's take a Katana Scrapper, for example), and they chose SuperSpeed as their travel power. However, they chose flurry (the worst power ever possible) as their primary pool set. They will keep having to get their katana in and out, which will be annoying for them and other teammates. However, they can respec flurry out if they wanted, and you cant...

So there's basically no way to make a forcefield using corrupter with an assault rifle without gimping yourself? There goes my theme character...

EDIT: What sets DO go with AR then, for future reference?

forcefield is probarbly OK, since all the FF powers are usually activated out of combat, ignoring force bolt.

Sonic Siphon, Sonic Cage, Clarity and Liquify are all things you'd use in combat though.

You have to bear in mind that even as an AR/Dev Blaster, there's a lot of redrawing going on - whenever you use Web Grenade, Caltrops, Smoke Grenade, Trip Mine, Time Bomb, Auto Turret for example, not to mention any power pool attacks.

After a while, you tend to get used to it - the only one of the 4 abilities listed that you'll be using with any regularity will be Sonic Siphon (speaking from my experiences as an Ill/Son Controller) - with Clarity when needed, but you can reapply that to everyone at once, then throw in a Sonic Siphon at the end of it. I'd suggest trying it out a bit more to get used to it, before discounting it out of hand.

For some reason I thought your were talking about the Force Field set

Is that even available to corruptors?

The sonic set is basically an FF clone with powers mixed around, as far as I could see?

Sonic = Res; FF = Def.

Similar sets, but with specific differences.

I.e, IMHO Sonic owns FF

[/ QUOTE ]Getting FF secondary for corruptors would be damn good, it owns Sonic anyday, not with the DEF but all the knockback.
