Spines Question

Can spines knock toggles off in anyway???

Posted

No Scrapper powers that I know of have inherent toggle dropping abilities. The status effects that are tacked on don't count before anyone starts

I don't think so, its my understanding that its the secondary status effects that drop your toggles when (And if) they come into effect. Ive certainly never been toggle dropped by a Martial Arts Scrapper without an accompyaning Mez.

I could be wrong, so I'd like to hear from some MA PvP enthusiasts.

Probably ecept for AV fights in the 40-50 levels when IH and MoG become really quite useful for staying alive. I solo on invincible and only need IH for the occasional troublesome boss or when carnies/malta sap me.

Some other random thoughts:
How are you finding End usage? You might be able to get by without stamina.
Some people have been going with the medicine pool rather than the fighting pool and slotting up Aid Self. It does, however, mean yet another click power.

Whats the point in Aid Self when your /Regen?

Especially as it's interruptable. I'd recommend getting IH at 28 just to use if you ever get in over your head, you don't nessessarily have to slot it as it's pretty good out of the box.

With 1 or 2 Recharges, 1 or 2 Interrupts and 3 heals it makes a nice compliment to Dull Pain and Reconstruction when they aren't available. I don't use it myself but there are those that do and like it.

Personally I agree that getting IH earlier is a good idea.

I think Aid Self gives a better heal rate than Reconstruction does, but is interuptable.

My tips - Forget Weave, leave Tough till after Stamina or you're gonna make all those DA Scrapper's end usage look manageable.

Agree with Hobo

Spines has high end usage. I used to run quills but have dropped it for my final build due to the end it sucks up

I would suggest leaving resilince until later in the build

Take IH & 6 slot it

And hasten is your friend, with 3 slots its running around 2/3 of the time and really smooths out your attack chain

It's also worth considering slotting Slows in spine burst and throw spines and an immob in impale (if you want to PvP its fun watching slomo villains try to run)

If you took every single toggle available to you that still would be a far off dream.

This is a good point as a regen your meant to be able to regen! hehe. but as regen has been nerfed and nerfed and indirectly nerfed it has left us to look at other methods to keep us in the battle. And reawakened my thoughts on Moment Of Glory. Previously i would never think of taking the power. but as times have change and the regeneration slowed to a trickle. Moment Of Glory used correctly combind for when Instant Heal fails can be a powerfull power and i would say better to take and slot rather than the Medicine pool. Plus also keeps the true meaning of a Regen Scrapper.

And for keeping those regen's ticking over. Your dicey moments will be those where you suddenly find yourself with Reconstruction & Dull Pain on down time. Particulary if you live by the Zen Of The Scrapper code & are still taking on obscenely sized odds, even after ED .

Right about Quills too. With both QR & Stamina, Quills can get your stamina dipping in a nasty way. I'm keeping it myself, but it takes some management. I like puting those Slow enh's in so prefer not to have to stick end reductions in those precious spaces. It just means managing when to have it running or not etc.

Please answer this question, unrelated to the thread, but not worth its own.

Do powers from outside of your primary like Brawl, Air Supremacy, flurry etc. do criticals as well or not?

I suppose the logical extention of that is "if not, why not?" but I won't hold my breathe waiting for an answer to that.

I know my epic powers so have critical hits - LBE and energy torrent - but dont know much about the power pool attacks but if you're a scrapper why does this matter when you're primary pool does better damage anyway

Well I find I am using Brawl quite regularly to flesh out my attack cycle and in PvP I should imagine people use it to try and drop toggles.

I am also going to get Air Superiority instead of hover and I'm sure that will be used in PvE and PvP.

iirc Brawl doesn't but the rest of the pool attacks should. I can't confirm as my scrappers only have boxing which I don't use (hate the redraw).

There was a thread on the US forums, which one of the devs answered, that discussed the critical on Jump Kick.

All pool power attacks get crits I think, Brawl doesn't though.

MA doesn't have a toggle dropper.

Although since Disorient resistance is so pathetically low now I doubt it'd be hard for a MA Scrapper to break mez resist.

Thx for the bad news Only reason i started a MA was cause i thought he would drop toggles as he hit.

MA only appears to drop toggles due to the ammount of attacks that have an associated disoriesnt.
