Help with slotting please...

Just wondered if I could pick someones brains about slotting at the beginning.

I've just got to lvl 11 sonic/elec and I'm not exactly sure how I should be slotting my powers.

Not sure how much this will mean to everyone as I'm the only sonic blaster I've seen so far...I can't be the only one surely? I think I have the following at the moment...although I'm prob slightly wrong.

Primary - Sonic
Shriek - dmg/dmg
Scream - dmg/dmg/dmg
Shockwave - knockback
Shout - dmg/dmg/acc

Secondary - Elec
Electric Fence - hold
Charged Brawl - confuse

Other
Combat Jumping - def/def

I have noticed to I seem to miss quiet a lot...not sure if this is my slotting or if sonic is generally less accurate? Im not usre if I should be slottig for accuracy this early or just going for straight dmg. I dont seem to be having much problems with END at the moment but I guess this maybe becuase I only have the combat jumping toggle.

I also heard someone mention that it isnt worthwhile buying enhancements at lower levels, just get them free of mobs, as it is a waste of money for later stages. It sounds like a good idea in principle but I keep getting junk enh that I can't use.

Another sonic!!!

Spurr is now lvl 23 (sonic/energy).

Yeah Ive noticed the amasing ability of the sonic set to miss, its even more obvious in pvp...

In Pve he works well, though soloing can be bloody

My main advice... Love shockwave and sirens call they are the sonic life saver especily when solo or when friends are in trouble.

Up to lvl 20 I had mainly damage, endurance reductions and attack rate reductions in my sonics.. So I could keep an allmost constant barrage of sonic pain up and running, using rate of fire to negate the attrocious amount of misses sonics seem to have.

since then Ive added a few mor accs, but even with 3slots of Single origin accs I'm still lucky if I Can hit in pvp.

There are other sonics around, and they must be better than me as I have ignroed most of the advice on the forums so I could enjoy the learning experience myself..and stick with enhancment sets that match my style of play for the char...

Ooh dont bother with the knockback for shockwave 'till later, stick and end reduction or attact rate reduction/damage in there instead.

Going by hero builder, Sonics have a -5% acc bonus built in to all their attacks - hence why your missing alot.

I've got a Sonic blaster as well and didn't know this but have started to redo my enhancements to compensate for this (x2 Acc at the likely expense of a damage).

As far as enhancements go, I just used training acc ones untill I could get DO's and even then only used the accuracy ones. I did make the error of getting knockback and range ones later on as they offer minimal improvements compared to the SO ones.

So sell all TO junk you get!

Don't put more than one slot in Combat Jumping. The bonus Defence your getting is trivial to say the least.

Ok thanks for the help...so I guess it is better to go for dmg and end reductions until I get to a few levels higher.

As this is my first toon...not sure how much I miss compared to other blasters...it just seemed a lot of misses in general so thought I would add an acc to my main attacks.

I know what you mean about slotting CJ (now)...can't say I have noticed any difference between one and 2 slots.

As for hero builders...I prefer to pick whatever powers I fancy and then see how it goes. Which means I'll probably make loads of mistakes...but anywho thats life.

Follio regarding slotting your attacks, I personally find that the best way to save on endurance and get the most damage out is to hit first time. When I'm using TOs or DOs I generally slot one or two accuracy in everything, plus one endurance reducer in any AOEs, then I'll start sticking damage in. By level 20 I usually have 2 or 3 attacks 5 or 6 slotted, generally with 1 or 2 acc, possibly 1 end reducer, and the rest damage.

Slotting CJ isn't that useful for defence even when they're SOs, training enhancements wont do much good at all

Again thanks for the help everyone...at the moment I am sticking to dmg and acc and it seems to be working out so far so I think I'll stick to it for now. May add an end reduction next.

*cough* no one has mentioned about secondaries yet.

ur 1st 2 melee attacks are well worth taking, power sink at 35 can get u out of neding stamina totally, so be prepared to respec it out and dont underestimate heavy slotting of sirens' song, solo u can sleep a group and pick them of 1 by 1.

if ur on defiant ask for me somewhere n we can talk rubbash
