Temp powers in Sirens Call

I've asked a few people about how you get the temp powers in Sirens Call. The answer is always that the villains have to be winning on the bar in my Nav.
Now i've tried buying on my villain when the villains are clearly winning but to no avail. So this morning i thought i'd log on as a hero and see if heros are blocked from buying them. But surprise surprise my hero can still buy them even though the villains have well over half of the bar filled.

Does anyone have some clarification on how this works? It would seem a bit unfair if temp powers are always available to heros and never to villains. Perhaps i'm just missing something

the overall control of the zone must pass over to villains. To do that you need 30 hotspot wins.Which means to fill up the bar.

Hmm seems a bit excessive, it can take a great deal of time to move the bar an inch fighting at hotspots. Ach well time to get hotspotting

[/ QUOTE ] i know it is...remember that it doesnt count as an overall of all villains that do individually hotspots...you need to personally do 30 wins in hotspots or with team and fill up the bar to open the temp power vendor.

What do you mean? Both heros i've went into Sirens with have been able to buy them the instant they get there without having fought at a hotspot.

they not have to. Once a hero or a team of hero achieve 30 hotspot wins the control of the zone went over to hero side. To break that you will need a villain or team of villains to achieve 30 hotspot wins so the hotspot control goes over to villains. Remember if you zone out or log before the 30 wins the bar resets.

You think that's bad? Try going in as a Hero who can't buy IR Goggles and getting Assassin Strike'd to smeg.

IR goggels are buged I have been told.

Bugged? how?

I was using IR on my dark defender last night and was surprised at how often i was spotting stalkers, while the rest of the team couldnt see them at all. Especially stalkers i know to have both stealth and hide. Not sure if i was maybe getting a +perception from shadow fall also, but it doesnt say that in the power description.

IR goggles only increase your chance to spot someone hidden. It's definately not a garantee. I've had em on a few times and still gotten AS without ever noticing the stalker. Now mind you I have no other powers that increase perception.

FYI police drones increase your perception, maybe that's why you could see em? eh just a thought.

Lol nah wasnt the police drones (i play stalker as main, i know most of the tricks of being seen ) it didnt matter where i was in the zone. The reason i was surprised is that as far as i can tell none of my Dark Defender powers are meant to give +perception. And i know the heros havent been seeing me as often as i was seeing them that night.

I haven't had any problems with IR goggles. I've been able to spot Stalkers coming at me easily, & I'm pretty sure I haven't been AS'd by a stalker I didn't know was there whenever I've had them. What I did find is there are some Stalkers who've built for some extra stealth in someway (I know precious little about them, so I couldn't say how. I'm guessing additional Stealth pool powers maybe) & whilst I could see these guys, I sometimes couldn't target 'em. But spotting them did allow me to fire off a spine burst when they tried to get in to AS me.

Even so, I've still been grabbed by a couple of the really good Stalker players out there. I don't mind the Stalker AT's at all, I think the sense of paranoia when playing as a hero adds to the fun a bit, & it's pretty rewarding when you get one over on them back.

IR goggles are only meant to let u see stalkers using hide btw, not hide and stealth which most do now on defiant.
Tested it today on my stalker and Talin using only IR goggles couldnt see me with both hide and stealth running. The plot thickens
