i wouldnt take barrage
i'd get buildup sooner if you want to go BB alot
i'd take Energy Transfer instead of barrage before lvl 30 so you have a good attack for Sirens

Kuji-In Rin - i'd put in 3 recharges instead

Posted

Barrage is helping me a lot in the low lvs as it is a very quick attack but I might get rid of later but like I siad its only lw lvs so need to try it out but nrg transfer Hmmm loss of HP but it is a good attack.

Posted

you dont actually lose that much with Energy transfer when unhidden - its about 85-90 at lvl 28 ish

you can easily 1 shot an even level minion with buildup (unslotted for damage)

my normal attack for a group of 3 now is
Buildup
AS LT
ET minion
placate 3rd - wait and AS, normally the only damage i take is from Energy transfer, and thats normally regenerated before the next battle

i have worked in CJ SJ hover(for missions), Fly and stealth for PvP (all before lvl 24)
all the secondaries except caltrops, all the primaries except stun and barrage

good luck with it, you'll enjoy it. lots of fun

I dont understand why people get annoyed and come out with this rubbish all the time, "you cant fight you just run and hide" and yet I kill tons I mean seriously are people so foolish they cant figure out the basis of the AT from the name? Yeah im going to 1 v 1 your regen scrapper, that makes perfect sense perhaps I should go to the PVP zones with my Brute demanding Empaths solo me

A genuine thanks to that stalker for making the game a lot of fun last night. normally I don't bother with PvP but I was testing out my combined PvE/PvP build.
I was up against several stalkers last night in Bloody Bay and Sirens call. Here's my hero perspective of fighting them.

In Bloody Bay a few of the stalkers I could spot by staying in the water (you can see the water ripples as they approach). So the Stalker threat isn't as bad. This was mentioned in another thread.

However it's a different story in Sirens Call. Just head to the hotspots and a stalker will turn up eventually.
There were two stalkers last night one of them had TP and was extremely good at hit and run.
The other one had fly and I got them a few times as they couldnt outfly me -also they didnt seem to hide quick enough.

TP for a stalker seems to be much more effective in PvP than the other travel powers - also seems to be unsupressed.
It's very hard to chase a TP stalker because you lose sight of them very quickly.

Whilst the heroes were battling for the hotspot he'd choose one target and 2 shot them.
As this happened at each hotspot, I saw this as a new challenge for me to try and stop the stalker from killing my team.
I was never able to stop him as he always TPed away in time. In fact the only time he got me was when I was saying goodnight to all - I thought I'd be safe hovering high above the rooftops. I didnt know he also had hover and he got me whilst I was chatting. Lesson learned for the next time.

So Rock Eagle - if you want to be really difficult to find take TP instead of SJ.

I have just rolled a new stalker Spines/SR and he will have TP as his travel power and hover got to try a fig out a build. Agent Skull was my 1st stalker so I have made some mistakes on his build but nothing major.

I've never tried a SR stalker before.
But I do know that SR for Hero is probably the weakest for PvP sub lvl 35 (probably also 35-50 too despite Elude).

The so-called 'defense' set can be hit by almost anyone with 1 ACC SO and a 'build up ' type power.

Plus Practised Brawler needs to be taken earlier as it's status protection is very usefukl - you'll still need Break frees though for when the holds are stacked...

The passives Agile and Dodge are in practice more useful for the damage resistance than for the defence.
The lower your health the more damage resistance you get
I heard around 20% resist but dont have the link.
The damage resistance is noticible and has bought me the extra few seconds to make an escape or use an insp.

To be honest though a PvP Stalker probably doesnt need to worry about defenses if you're playstyle is hit and run.

Yeah thats what I do hit and run I got one good attack in bloody bay and Im going to use it to the best way possible not sure if Im going to roll SR will prob go Nrg Aura. But the attacks and power pools will stay the same also he will have tp other as well as tp and hover for soem reason I cant chose TP or fly on the villain planer.

Posted

That funny IMO the SR stalker set is the strongest in PvP. It lag alot in the PvE area compared to some of the other sets, where I think ninjitsu is the strongest, closely followed by regen.

50s
controllers: Ill rad , grav rad, fire kin, ice kin
blaster: ice em
scrapper: spines sr

I find EA awesome in PVP, the anti-tp and res to controller effects works wonders with my fly/SS combo and I can certainly more often than not get away. TP self is a faster and more relaible way to get out of trouble than fly and SS but I couldnt give up either of these in my PVP build

sorry but build doesnt look too great IMO. heres my 2 cents

PvP build and you dont get mez protection til lvl 26?
In bloody bay you will get owned every time you try to attack.
Youll get off one AS then youll get hit by something as simple as ring of fire or hit with one of many disorient attacks.
This means any good controller, blaster, tank or scrapper will kill you.

You also must take build-up if you wanna stand a chance.

smoke flash is rubbish and shouldnt be taken til it gets fixed (i posted about it recently).

With some slight changes youll be alot more powerful.
Bear in mind because Stalkers have v low hitpoints if you dont kill an enemy within 8 seconds you must run. BTW the build below is purely PvP and probably not particularly good PvE, unless you enjoy hit and run.

Archetype: Stalker
Primary Powers - Ranged : Energy Melee
Secondary Powers - Support : Ninjitsu

01 : Hide
01 : Energy Punch
02 : Danger sense
04 : Bone Smasher
06 : Assassin's Strike
08 : Build up
10 : Hasten
12 : Placate
14 : Super speed
16 : Kuji-In Rin
18 : Hurdle
20 : Health
22 : Stamina
24 : Stealth
26 : Ninja reflexes
28 : Air Superiority
30 : Fly
32 : Total Focus
35 : Tp foe
38 : Kuji-In Retsu

hope that was helpful

I would agree that Teleporting Stalkers are hard to chase without good perception, but they are easily held and lose endurance quickly. Most Stalkers I chase have SJ, Acrobatics and get away by going back to base. I haven't seen a Stalker with Super Speed yet lol, the big white line in the water would be a huge give away. Fly isn't good for Stalkers either.

Edit: Just thinking that Fly would be good for approaching a target and Super Speed for getting away. You might not be able to spare the powers though.

Posted

I fail to see how SS is worse than SJ when its faster in a straight line . You cant kill what you cant catch.

Posted

Sorry i didnt make that clear. I agree that for navigating to missions and just generally SJ is better.
But just purely for getting away in PvP surely SS has the edge, particularly as your harder to spot on the ground and can get out of line of site faster.

My dedicated PVP Spines/EA Stalker has both fly and SS and it rocks, endurance problems are now resolved so I have SS permanantly on. I can sneak up on flying/hovering targets and AS them or send them plummeting to earth with impale for my team to slaughter. Should i get chased by a flyer/PB/WS I just switch off fly and run off at great speed. As for powers, yeah its been hard to balance it as I have 4 pool powers now at lvl 26 Speed/Fitness/Concealment/flight but these are integral to my character and playing style, the only downside is I havent got build up yet (getting it at 28) and only powers in defence I have are Hide (compulsory) and Entropy Shield (awesome at resisting controller powers and TP foe ) I dont miss the defense in PVP as I didnt build it to resist attacks.

I would recommend this to people and clocked up 210 pvp points now in a character that is 8 or 9 days old and fully slotted with +3 SOs with my haul from Sirens.

In open areas, Super Speed is faster, but trying to get back to the Hero base in Siren's Call requires skill. Hurdle is a must if you don't have CJ or SJ.

SS on it's own can be a pain on a Stalker. When trying to get away from the rest of a team thats just found their troller lying face down and are out for blood can be tricky.
If you go down the SS route for Stalkers LEARN the map before you start engaging as if you want to escape you are going to need to know all the shortcuts.

Tbh i'd say that for a SJ would be the best power for this AT. Looking at it from a Stalker point of view stalking, a hero who has SJ and uses it to its full advantage (yes you Agent Matron ) can be hard to target, and even when u have a lock can be hard to keep track of. Also handy for getting to opponents who think that hiding on buildings will keep them safe . When i finally can get the respec mission finished i'll probably go for SS and SJ combined.

Thats look really good.
You might consider taking Kuji-In Rin at lvl 16 tho and pushing all the others powers up one. Especially if you ever wanna play in bloody bay.

Im in bloody bay at the mo with this toon and I have not died yet due to a hero attack. Im a very patinet stalker I will wiat for ages till I make my move but when I do BAM STRAIGHT TO THE MOON. I most say its regen scrappers that are my fave meal at the mo.
