Well... in some crazy twisted way I can understand him.

When I created my corruptor, I was convinced by the class decription, that I would be a "damage dealer", and in no way a support class. How wrong I was.

But than again, if he'd thought like that, then why'd he pick up shields anyway?

Its not total damage dealer AS explained, there is enough info out there - we're NOT blasters. More like a combo f healer and blaster - read it all and try it out the Info is there.
Ice/cold is about the only one who CAn miss shields comfortably dark SURE cant realistically miss heals etc and nor can Thermal - how silly would that be

some players are just plain lazy or stoopid and it matters not how you tell them they rumble on. MM's who just bubble pets and corr's with heals and rez who well... just dont use it!

It bugs me Its my trade here I've been at it long enoug and its in my blood - ffs dont be so lazy and selfish heal/rez/sheils or else why choose them? This is a team game or teh most part (i know some solo but some are just plain lazy and well....selfish)
Choose Blaster if you dont wanna support or Brute for damage else read the WHOLE blurb on your AT........

If some idiot wandered off and went into red hp I'd tp them back to me, heal them and give them a rollicking for being so silly. Sometimes it felt like a glimpse of what it must be like to be a mother ^^;
On the bright side people never complained and they'd learn quickly enough with the end result being fun for everyone :3

Corruptors damage dealers or healer? Both of course.


Neither can be compared against the other they are a combination of both as raven has said. They have to be considered as a completely different class

Those who bought CoV, and don't have access to CoH, may STILL wan't to play a ranged damage dealer class, that's why they may want to skip shields / rez and focus on trying to deal damage instead. I think it's hard to say if this is right or wrong... again, those people do NOT have access to a pure range damage class such as blasters.

One thing I do agree on... if you DO take a shield/rez/heal, then why not use it?

Actually, the original question was about using heals vs buff/debuffs.

Frankly, I have no problem with people who want to make their Corruptor as a Blaster. But if they take powers from their secondary, I expect them to use them. And that includes your level 1 power even if it's the only one you take. If you really want to go all out blast, take sonic as the secondary, as the level 1 power helps you damage things, and no-one will complain when you don't heal (and if they do, they're an idiot, as it's obvious you can't...)
