Corruptor Question

Just out of interest can someone tell me if Corruptor secondaries are the same power as Controller secondaries were in COH?

An example of what I mean:

in COH the speed buff/debuff for a defender is 25% and for a controller it is 20% - are corruptors running on 20% speed buff/debuff?

Thanks!

If I remember rightly, corruptors are 75% of a blaster, and 75% of a defender...

Afaik, the Corruptor secondaries work at 75% of defender efficiency.

Secondary is somewhere between 75% and 100% of a defenders power, depending on the power.

controllers: Ill rad , grav rad, fire kin, ice kin
blaster: ice em

right... heh, still confused :P

Is there anywhere online which has precise figures?

couls check the yank boards. But TBH I think it is 75% blaster and 75%deffender just like every one else siad.

I'm Ok with the 75%... just wondered which ones aren't based on Imaginary's "somewhere between 75% and 100%" comment...

I didn't really want to do any work today though so I'll go research it

I did a quick and dirty corruptor to blaster comparison for primary, and in the tutorial (outbreak for the blaster, breakout for the corruptor), using fiery blast for both, using flares on both (as even a test as I could get) on even level minions, I got a damage figure of corruptors doing 95% of the blasters damage.

I guess I could have hit a fluke case, but has the 75% blaster been tested, or just stated by Devs?

I don't know if it has been stated by Devs but I found this on the us forums:

A lot of data there, but I did notice that those tests were comparing a defender with a corruptor, rather than a blaster with a corruptor. He does have substantially more data then my tests at just level 1 tho

Certainly food for thought. I also have an Ice corruptor, I may have to roll an ice blaster and see how the 2 compare for damage.... less able to do that with my dark/dark corruptor (I seem to be rolling lots of corruptors ), as blasters can't take dark blast as a primary.

I'm mostly interested in how corruptors compare to blasters as damage dealers, as they both have ranged attack primaries, although the defender primaries as secondaries do make for interesting play options

Thanks for the link

Yeah, I found that as I was mostly interested in the Defender comparisons to begin with... there must be comparative data out there for blasters as well which I think I will look for later (will post anything I find if it's interesting)

I've also rolled lots of Corruptors (Fire/Thermal, Ice/Cold, Dark/Dark, Ice/Kinetics) and I'm finding them the most fun at the moment (difficult balancing act of doing all that damage but trying not to grab too much aggro)

TBH I wouldnt think of a corruptor as a high damage dealer like a blaster (or the raw power as described on the COV website). Corruptors are more a utility class imo. Reasonable damage, reasonable buffs. Your not going to put out the damage a blaster can, or even a brute for that matter. But you could make the latter stand up a lot longer. Just my take on our role really.

I'm guessing you solo corruptors a lot, and/or haven't reached high levels yet. I say that because.

A fire/dark corruptor (for example) really is impressive (even at low levels), unless you run into one of the fire resistant mobs. This is one of the few corruptor builds that feels impressive out of the box (in my limited experience).

you need both primary and secondary slotted up to really see some corruptors shine. Most corruptor builds seem to fall into this category.

On a large team (not all corruptors) you tend to spend most of your time cycling through looking for the mobs on low health. One blast = scourge = defeated.

People start to notice 7 in 8 'defeats' on team are attributed to you and accuse you of being a 'goal hanger' (or worse) .

Honestly, large teams with only one corruptor in, you really begin to see the point of the AT. Soloing, it is a substandard blaster with a much nicer secondary.

not as much damage as a brute with high fury, but a fair bit of damage from a standing start. and not as much pure damage as a blaster, but with buffs and debuffs to potentially out blast them (in a solo/clunkily balanced team situation at least)

I think that's what makes Fire seem so impressive - the AOE attacks are great for scourge towards the end of a fight.

I tend to spend the first half of a battle buffing and minimal healing and then swap over to aggro grabbing AOEs for Scourge at the end. It really makes me feel quite godly when I see all the bad guys falling over and dying

Nah I am a lvl 33 Ice/Kin corruptor and group most of the time Corruptors arent much good for soloing, certainly on my build, but I can generally make a team I am with go much faster As I say was just my opinion.

My rad/rad corrptor is great if a little tough to get used to.

My main toon in COh is a regen scrapper and the squishy nature of my corruptor certainly makes life interesting.

I feel better in teams with a meatshield, but like soloing sometimes for the extra challenge that provides. Only lvl 11 at moment but beginning to get some decent attacks and debuffs.
This will by my main in COV, so i guess i better get used to debt.

Oh and accel metab is the DB's !

My Fire/Rad is anything but squishy and a soloing machine. Elite Bosses aren't a problem. And i can take out most AVs with the help of one brute. I'm not ssaying I have an Uber build just that the powers are really nice in those sets.

Damage is low compared to equivalent blaster and scourge only really makes a big impact on bosses/AVs.
