Who needs stamina?

[/ QUOTE ]

I need both. grav/ is VERY end heavy, and I loiks throwin' stuff.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have found that Stamina is a Must for *Most* archtypes.

I Love chucking the forklifts too

However my Grav\Rad troller does quite well, Stamina 3 slotted and also AM, whilst AM is active, then I don't have any problem with Endurance drain even though Gravity is a High Endurance use powerset.

It's also IMO a Fantastic powerset to play, and not a Controller set I have seen a great number of heros with, I see loads of Ice, Earth, Illusion and Mind trollers, but not a great load of Gravity trollers. WTFN

One of my Favourite powers I have just collected Wormhole!!! it's an AoE TP Foe with Disorientate, Wormhole the nasties in, and then AoE Hold and AoE Immob, buff your mates up and Kill Kill... *cough* sorry... arrest arrest arrest

Gravity and Rad combined makes for a large amount of group holds and immobilizes along with buffs, debuffs and heals for your teammates.. when it comes to teams, I chose Grav\Rad trollers before anything including a tank, with a couple of trollers, who needs blasters for high end damage output, you're all doing double damage with containment with every power you use.

I've been on Invincible since lvl2, and with a high number of trollers on the team, we've managed to take out 8man invincible spawn missions with almost no casualties.
GRAV\RAD... WE ROCK. (anyone here disagree )

Gonna put in my two pennies worth about Mind/FF.

After some initial power selection problems, i've found that Mind controller is a good balance between solo and team play.

Okay if I started the character again I might not of taken FF but since i've only taken 3 powers in the set i'm not too bothered now and besides apart from one hero everyone appricates a bubble or two.

Okay when soloing I might not take out mobs as quickly as other AT's but i'm hardly gonna take any damage. Hit the mob with Mass Domination so containment kicks in straight away normally followed up with terrify (just incase you missed someone) then it's just a case of Dominate, Levitate and Mesmirize last since sleep lasts longer than a hold, then move on to the next target.
I also took Air superiority to use if I miss an attack or an enemy gets too close.

When teaming the mass holds come into there own an then use the single holds on straglers, misses or bosses who need a second hit. Remember that your teammates will be doing the damage so concintrate on keeping the mobs held rather than dealing damage throwing in the occassional levitate coz I never tire of seeing the poor sod flying through the air.

Then theres Confusion and it's big brother Mass Confusion.
Firstly don't make the mistake I did and drop the single when you get mass as both have different applications plus Mass has a long recharge.

The best thing about Mass confuse is thats it's a great hold it stops them attacking you. I sure there's been many calls of it "stunting XP" but since I got it I haven't had a single complaint. Mostly because a) I normally follow it up with terrify meaning they only do one attack of damage. b) It's a great desperation power when your overwelmed and can really turn the tide. c) It's a kick [censored] move.
As for confuse it's really one of the most useful powers in my arsenal. So mind trollers don't have pets, well no we can choose our pets, need healing? Confuse a Crey Medic. Bubbles? Try a Raider force field generator. Basically any enemy that can buff/debuff can be confused to buff/debuff for you. It's like an instant defender, just add water. The list is endless and the fun of confuse is finding out what it can do for you.

Almost forgot. FACT : Mind Control has the best sounding powers of any powerset.

Now @Eskimo-Spy

I'm not evil.

Controllers are not made for damage (exept illusion control has good damage moves)
But dont slot your holds, immobs etc. with damage enhs.
Our job is to debuff, buff, hold, immob, slow, etc.
Thats my advice.

I have to agree, I dislike seeing controllers that (with the introduction of containment) focus on the damage aspects of their sets. I think a controllers job is similar to a tanks - holding aggro off of other members. Control before damage. Always!

All the little psychos *do* is damage. No extra controlling, no debuffing, nope. All they do is hit things. A lot

That and draw aggro when you least want it

Warning:

The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, and I can't be bothered reading the whole thread, but keep an eyeout for other players, especially other controllers who sometimes tend to use powers without taking into consideration the effects of the powers of other players.

(Note: This isn't always the case, just something to watch out for ie. if he uses Ice Slick, don't use Stone Cages on the same group of mobs! - Unless of course your team is a bit blaster heavy, and thus will be loads of knockback)

Yea i want to be a Illusonist but I have a hard time choosing my secondary power :/

Kinetics was a slow starter, compared to my fellow controllers, but now I can't imagine anything coming close to the combinaton of moves that I have now:

Open with Phantom Army (even vs Avs), by this time your phantasm will be attacking, Fulcrum shift which everyone will love you for, then hit Syphon speed(to boost recharge). By this time end should be getting low, so (with Superior Invis on) run close to a mob and hit transference .Then choose between blind and spectral wounds, to hit stragglers, or the fear (semi- hold) of Spectral terror.
back up with heal if needed or flash (AOE hold) if brave.
Sounds fun? Welcome to kinetics!

Im amazed to see no mention of Ice/Rad controllers.

Freeze em, De-buff em, and let ol Jack Frost kick hells bells out of em. Works extremely well for me, and although I have yet to try all troller combinations this is by far the best I've found so far. And if you use rads healing aura to look after Jack he will look after you
