My Robot/Traps build

For those of you who haven't had access to beta, I thought I would share my live build. I'm not claiming its the best build in MMO history, but it's a build for the active Mastermind. You will have tons of powers to play with, and help enhance the damage from your robots.

This build is a group build. While you will be able to solo (and actually be really good at it), you won't receive any healing powers untill you are reaching the higher levels. This is because your protector bots will do most of the work for you, especially if you use them on a defensive setting.

I avoided the two attacks available to me, which will make the first few levels somewhat slow - unless you are grouped. It's a late bloomer build, something you might want to factor in, and respec at 24.

I avoided Hasten on purpose. With the enhancement nerf you will have slots in abundance, might as well use some of them for increased recharge.

Note;

The Robotics powerset for Mastermind is conceptually solid, and probably works best with Traps and Force Field secondaries (as both can be percieved as hightech). With the recent nerf to both FF and to enhancement slotting in general, I feel that FF is too weak to utilize at the moment. However please notice, that a group with two xx/FF Masterminds would do really well.

Thoughts on differences include:

I feel the need for that extra punch early on so I went for the second blast, so I can stand and back up my robots if necessary, and I have an emergency "Go away" power if some sneaks up on me.

Triage beacon went because it didn't fit into the build at the time, and apparently needs a ton of slotting to make it work. Photon grenade also went this way, since you have seeker drones later on that can be slotted up for the same effect as photon grenade (disorientation). I wouldnt take or slot either of those powers for damage.

People also seem to get by without repair in robot builds, so that fell by the wayside due to no space as well.
I decided against leadership pool because of space issues, and because apparently they aren't as good for us as for defenders. If the last two traps powers prove useless, I guess they can be swapped out for tactics and assult/manouvres.

Yeah, I can see the reasoning for your choices. Regarding the Epic pools, I doubt they are in place when I hit 40, so I decided to ignore them for now.

I totally see a Robot build without healing, and would have preferred Heal Other from the power pools - but then Recall Friend would have to go. Since Robo's do all my damage, it would be silly not to heal them at all.

1) Tactics is too late for level 35 u need tactics urgently at level 22 and after due to the mass acc debuff going on in missions....

2) Assault is also a requisite for bots keep it in mind so u might wanna increase the AoE and DoT damage past level 32

3) No repair??? whoever said bots go without repair apparently not played bots high enough..u need it at the moment is available to u

4) i not see medicine pool..its a must for bots cause allows u keep a second emergency heal for them as well as for your self

5) as far as FF is concerned is the ultimate MM combo dmg wise and functionally wise....also is the only combo that allow u to fully tank an AV....i have tanked 2 AV at least with FF using PFF and worked miracles....also the FF is only set as far as i know that unveils stalkers when they in hide. Traps is good but when it comes to ultimate MM fighting machine....Bots FF is lethal....did all my levels cutting like hot knife through butter and past 32 madness kicked in...flooring a whole room of purplies was no issue

EDIT: hmmm noticed u mention team build so in that case a quick mention that my above notes are based on the best way to go for efficiency....and based on FF..is true traps are team orientated but when it comes to bubbles the bubbles def bonus combined with stacking prot bots are more powerful shileding combo...still traps a lot more stuff to toy with...also late heals is not such a good idea cause its the early stage u ll need em more and not late..is kinda like empathy set...early u need heal later u need buff....same is like MM..early on u focus healing and later on buffing with bubbles etc

Repair is a must, even with Protector Bots set to defensive mode all the time. If you have 3 damaged bots, only 2 can be healed in battle, because Prot Bot Repair recharge time is too long for that. Repair as a power in itself therefor is must.
Triage Beacon needs to be slotted heavily with Heal enhs for it to be really effective. On top of that, its more of a way to decrease downtime in between fights, as its stationary and the regen rate isnt that big. Apart from that, its a nice power.
I only got Assault from the Leadership set, because I thought I didnt need the other one, as I can slot my powers with Acc when you take into account the extra slots from ED.

You mean the first SO gives a 50% bonus in a power, instead of the 33% before ED?

They plan to bring 50% Highpower SOs (HSO) into the game.
The standard SOs will still be 33%.

Nope, effectiveness will decrease dramatically with every (H)SO added.
