Incandescence - is it worth slotting?

Title says it all really. Anyone have any numbers?

It was 13.5% resist in I4 but I think that dropped with I5. Quantum shield should be slotted first as you'll get a bigger return. Unless you really have nowhere else to put those slots I doubt it's ever worth slotting with more than the default slot.

I suspected something like that. Cheers!

Incandesence is not a toggle though. Therefore always having a base amount of damage resist is good. 3 slot it if you use the human form most...which i will.

With ED online it might be you'll have slots going spare that could be applied here.

I never slotted incandescane on my PB, Just shining and quantum shield. The return really isnt worth the slots.

Never slotted Thermal either, Far too little in game that uses either fire/cold.

Really? Always struck me there's quite a few that use fire/ice powers.

Early on maybe, When I respec'd into all human at 35 ish, It just wasnt worth slotting. All that do use it are CoT, And I avoid them like the plague anyway

They are a 'mare.
What about all those high level Council though? And don't both Malta and Carnies use fire?
You're probably right. I was pretty sure that there continued to be elemental attacks all the way through, although there is a lack of numbers that might well make slotting lack any realy advantage.

Yes, but its very low damage, and slow DoT so its not worth worrying about. All the carnies do is drop a burn patch which you can move out of.

Not sure which you mean on this.. but I'll say both..

Incandescence: Usually I find 2-3 slot anyway to be perfectly fine with it, 6 slot seemed overkill since i5, as well as on the other defenses, since i6, not much choice, but so far testing I've not found much problem .. voids yea.. they wont change much, but otherwise, you should be ok

Every lil bit helps, after all.

Incandescent Strike: On my PB , I kept it as 1acc/1end/1attc/3dmg = 109/250 (smash/nrg dmg) on +3 mobs (tried it on Test Server last night), Build generally seems to add about another 50 to either side.

So work keeping it 6 slotted I think. (all 50++ as well, as i cba to get equal level ones)

I was just talking about the fire attacks from council and stuff, They do such low damage.

You're forgetting the Seneschals - pretty nasty flamethrower attack.

Besides, I've never moved for a villain! I just stand there and let my Defiance kick in, obviously!
Overall though I guess we are talking numbers here, not enough flamethrowers etc in any one map for it to be a must slot?
