Soft Capping Defense - Worth It?
i have a number of defense based toons, and for all intents, defense doesn't work on them, much less a mom-defense toon. Based on some of the stuff I've seen in the combat windows, I suspect there's a little more going on than to-hit +acc overpowering defense
Build a Fire Tanker around +HP and +recharge. With IOs and accolades you should be able to push past 2700 HP.

Yea, don't even try. It's not worth it at all. Listen to mac. +HP and +Recharge are crucial. Healing Flames is what makes Fiery Aura viable.
sad to say the best defense right now is HP for pvp, I can see the argument for PvE, but defense just doesn't work at all
To the OP...it's damn near impossible to soft cap your defense in PvP thanks to DR. So with that being said, mac hit the nail on the head...also I'd build for -KB as well on a FA tank.
Or wait till I16 and have a pal roll a cold domination troller. Then have him keep Frostworks on you. Or a 2nd account buffbot.

Is that a serious question Viral? Come on heh, you know my Ice/SS Tanker has 69.13% Def to S/L in PvE and 42.25% in PvP due to DR. Now, how on earth could a Fire Tanker come even close to soft cap in PvP? ^^
Like others said, stick with +HP and +Recharge.

HP is your life blood in pvp, sadly defense has been kicked into a corner then [censored] [censored].
I have a fire aura tanker and I was considering slotting him out to soft cap his defenses, but I don't know if its even worth the money. Between DR and high +toHit bonuses currently on the field, should I waist my money soft capping his defense, or should I stick to resistance?
