A thought on Powers

I recently saw where Whips will be a new powerset from Going Rogue. It got me to thinking, why not make this a customizable power, and offer a melee weapon power period that includes multiple weapons - you select the one for your build right from the start, so whips, knives, staff and whatever else you can think of.

Second, why does it seem as though there is resistance out there to powers like let's say magnetic or optic blasts. People say law suits, but powers are powers, can they sue someone over that?
I saw a post for Optic blast, was a great power set, loved it.
For Magnestism, there are a whole host of powers that could be offered. Iron Grip(a hold power)/Shrapnel(explosive metal objects)/Magnetic Thrust/Force(pushes a person away)/Magnetic Force(holds a group)/Hurl Objects(similar to gravity). I'm not very good at this, but I hope you are seeing the point.

I think one thing we can agree on, is more powers the better along of course with more content. I am liking the updates with I16 and Going Rogue, good momentum. But I would like to see some open minds on powers, and not just have them dismissed out of hand.

Magnetism sounds almost exactly like gravity. Try playing that and justify it by saying its all magnets.

...When did they say Whips was going to be a new powerset? All I've heard about are Demon Summoning and Pistols.

i have a feeling he was refering to this post. and still nowhere in there does it say whips as a set. in fact BaB's post refering to whips, "how about a customizable hellfire whip", was when he was asked about demon summoning. from what i gather, the whip will be the other powers in demon summoning to fill it out. probably only 1 or 2 attacks though.

My bad on the whips. I assumed, making an a** out of myself, lol. All I am saying is that magnetism is a power for heroes and villains in comics, and not to dismiss it out of hand, that's all.

Any thoughts on what any of you would like to see?
