Question about upgrading your account

Hey there,

Is there any way to upgrade your account digitally and online, instead of having to actually order the boxed game? I think every single mmo I've played gave you this -extremely handy- option, but I just couldn't find CoH's when I tried to upgrade some minutes ago.

All I could find was the suggestion of purchasing the game off of a series of listed merchants, like WalMart, Best Buy, etc, and well, neither of these would work for me since:
a) None of them ship to where I live.
b) Even then, I wouldn't like to wait for whatever it takes the mail to arrive - haha :-)
c) I don't like hard copies. I'd rather have digital ones, they don't get scratched, if you lose it you just d/l it again, if you lose your activation code you can have it e-mailed to you once more, etc, etc, etc...

Thus, if any of you guys could tell me if there's a way to upgrade my account without having to buy the boxed game, it would be very much appreciated indeed :-)

Cheers

If you log into your NCsoft masteraccount, there should be an option 'NCsoft store', where you can buy upgrades, i.e. you get a serial code.

After you have bought a pack, you must Upgrade your CoX game account.

Using the "Add" option creates a new game account, which is probably what you do not want to do if you want to use the characters that you are already playing.

You may also want to consider going out and getting a box, because they're generally cheaper at brick & mortar than from the NCSoft store. You'll also have a hard copy of the game in the event that you need to reinstall, you won't have to download the whole thing again.

Even if you do buy a box version, it represents a permanent upgrade to your account. You don't need anything to reinstall, regardless of whether you go with digital or hard copy.

However, getting a physical copy has the following advantages with ZERO down-side:
1) You can re-install or install to another computer faster, since you don't have to download almost 3GB of data.
2) The Good vs Evil and Architect box versions give you a 'pack of goodies' (costume parts, powers, etc) that normally retails for $10. Also, you get one free month of game time, which normally costs $15. That's $25 of value which you can easily find a copy for around $20, sometimes significantly less.

P.S. The Good vs Evil box gives you the Good vs Evil pack, while the Architect box lets you pick either the Cyborg or Magic booster packs.

You said none of them will ship to where you live. Is that some place other then North America? If it is then unfortunately you probably can't buy from the ncsoft store and will have to get a box version from somewhere.

The online "boxes" from the NC store also give you those goodies For 20 bucks. Although, at this point, it is not uncommon to find GvE for less than $15 in a brick-and-mortar.
