So a guy quit my Respec SF (3rd Respec)...

there are some trends (skipping vital powers, bios that are painful to read, that sort of thing)

I've got no bios on my characters.
(I'm a graphic arts hobbyist - hopefully my costumes are interesting.... but I despise writing. /sigh)
I did just get my first 50, though! (six-seven weeks of zone story arcs. Now to go back in Oro and catch some of the ones I missed. But I did have to log right out and make my first EAT.... with no vet badges. Whee!)

That said..... yeah, some aspects of the AE seem to be less than positive. And I have a hard time imagining why someone would buy a game, and then not be curious about all the different things to do. But, then, I was always the one who annoyed my friends by trying, first thing, to read the manual on any new game I got; rather than just running it right off.
Congratulations! It's good to see new players enjoying the game.
That's what bothers me about AE and the new player..... many people are missing out on so much. They're jumping right into the jaded category within weeks. Leveling throughout the game is faster and more consistent now than it has ever been before. The level progression is at a very nice pace for a new player who still has a lot to experience. It gives the new player time to not only learn how to use their powers, but learn the dynamics of teaming too. AE is just proving that it's not a good game mechanic to allow all players the ability to have instant high-level characters.

The only problem with defeating the Tsoo is that an hour later, you want to defeat them again!

I was on an AE team the other day, an all-LT mission (sigh). One player, a level 30 something (blaster?) said he wanted to get to level 40 by the end of the day. He then proceeded to complain loudly at =every freakin spawn= that the mission was dealing out "crappy xp".
I said, "Any xp is good xp to me."
I also offered that he could leave and find another team with better xp. Funny how he didn't leave. Until he dinged 31, and quit team, leveled, and logged off.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Respec was going awesome, tearing through first mission. The guy on team says he is not getting Experience and decides to logout and quit.
The thing was this guy was LEVEL 50.
Or he felt like quitting and gave you guys a really bad excuse.
AE baby?

What I mean is players who have been around before AE know what the game was like then. New players with a wealth of XP but no experience playing the game are unpredictable to team with.
Point taken about new players still being good. Certainly true in many cases. I said I check vet badges, I didn't say I only invite certain experience levels.
i do not like people who use bonfire during a rikti raid... or FORCE BUBBLE...
u kno who u r... STOP DOING THAT... its SUPER annoying...
u person with zero vet badges... telling us how awesome the power is in broadcast... while WE are all telling YOU TO STOP.

Idiocy, however, is punishable by me suggesting 'Hey, see those guys kitted out SOCOM style? They're wimps! Go beat them up!'
Welcome to Sapperville, grasshopper.

Ignorance can be very very fatal. Doesn't anyone ever read their Bradbury anymore?
