Black Market = Lag Market : Solutions

I have two main solutions for some of the lag issues that arise when one even gets within 200 yards of the Lag Market, excuse me, I mean Black Market.

Unfortunately for most, the game crashes as soon as we click on the dealer. Maybe it’s due to our systems trying to process the powers of others, their character auras, as well as compute the constant updating of the market itself. Some toons choose to have powers toggled all the time, like psychic shockwave on auto, shadowfall, cloudy mist, force fields, etc. We could do without these powers while we conduct business, in my opinion.

These are my possible lag-relieving solutions:

BM:sol.1 = Create a Dead Zone. Powers automatically turn off once one enters the 50 – 75 yard radius surrounding the BM.

BM:sol.2 = Adjust BM Window. Once the consignment window opens, the first thing it does is list everything the market has to sell in the right panel. What if we simply leave that panel blank? No need to have it all displayed at once, the left panel is user-friendly enough for searching for any specific item.

Lemme know what you think or offer any solutions that may remedy the Lag Market issue.

I very rarely have worse then minor stuttering when loading at even the most crowded black market / wentworths. If you're having difficulty, you may want to consider upgrading your RAM (2 GB is great), turning down your particle effects in the options menu, or otherwise adjusting your graphical options so that they don't put such a huge strain on your system.

While it would be nice to see an improvement in the BM's efficiency, they're hardly the crash-inducing nightmare you seem to imply.

/this.

And also, pick the less frequented BM/WW. I tend to prefer Sharkshead villainside and Kings Row heroside, in many cases, though Talos is more popular (and convenient) higher up blueside.

The initial load the first time you go to the BM is the only slowdown I see. (Not saying you *don't,* since obviously if you didn't you wouldn't have posted but there are other ways.)

Of course, others have suggested, say, being able to earn/craft/buy a Wentworths or Black market terminal for the SG base as well, which I wouldn't argue with. (As for the RP-esque "How do you ship goods you're buying?" argument... we teleport *ourselves* around, why would we not teleport goods?)

If the powers stayed on, but the graphics weren't rendered, would that help?
Personally, I'd be happy if MM pets didn't swarm the vendors. Maybe if they parked a few yards away.

[/ QUOTE ] This is more like it. My only lag is at the initial opening.
Very few of my characters have any need for Arachnos Gun Salvage, Absolute Amazement Recipes or Aardvark Pelts. No need to open up the right-hand panel until I start searching for some specific range of item.
