You could conduct a campaign to let people know that storm can heal.

Actually, there was a Dr. Q that of 3 defenders, by Storm/Dark was the only one with a heal. Great fun!

Well, you know how it goes. It just takes a Fire Blaster who drops Rain of Fire in the Caves of Atta, with ensuing stampede of hundreds of Trolls who wipe the group, to get someone hatin' on the Fire Blasters in general. A few bad Stormers likewise mess things up a lot for everyone, alas.
Freezing Rain should always be welcome at any time by everyone. Snow Storm, once they fixed the Blinding White Out it used to cause several issues back, is likewise great unless a runner trots off to aggro another group, but even THEN, they will come after you in SLOOOOOOW MOOOOOOTION. Both these powers do a number of Very Helpful Things, and any knowledgeable player should welcome them, even if Hurricane, Tornado and Lightning Storm are not appealing to them.
But I could not tell you how to educate folks, short of putting the link to the Wiki in the chat bar. It is like any other debuff--- hopefully they notice things are going down faster, but they might not. Trick Arrow has a bunch of great debuffs, but folks may or may not know all that they do, either. So I dunno how you make folks pay attention. Point them to the Wiki is the best way, I suppose.

Frankly, please do me a favor - if people think your set sucks, just avoid them. There are people out there like me who are hungry for more -res debuffs (and the overall safety freezing rain brings), enjoy swinging many times faster than their opponents due to snowstorm, and like having a hurritank with steamy mist in back as an island of safety on huge pulls. 
Leave the "LFHEAL0R" folks to their own teams...

**Sighs**....some things never change. But things do approve. I haven't heard of anyone getting booted from a team for not being an emp recently, which used to happen regularly, so yay for that. Although I'm sure someone will have a story about that now 
As to how to educate players, I honeslty don't think it can be done. Just keep playing a stormie well, and maybe people will learn. Of course, they often just think it's their own awesomeness. Many a times i've seen in team chat "Wow! I just hit him for XXXX, how amazing am I" and I usually make some comment about stacked Storm/Sonic/and Dark debuffs having something to do with it.

Now just throw another defender primary in there like TA or Rad and you would be completely unstoppable.
I have seen snowstorm on a tarpatch with glue on the floor. That was amazing, a virtual hold.

Heh, I ended up quiting the team because that same person made everyone go get a Shivan to finish it. Then when a rad troller joined, exact line was " Yay!, now we have a chance." Don't get me wrong, I like rad as well, but it seems that rad or kin is the healorz for some vets.

I fondly remember back befor the movement speed floor was added, it was easy to hold Vahzilok and Banished Pantheon Zombies just with snow storm. They would end up stuck in their running animation but wouldn't be able to move anywhere.

Ayup, I here ya. I've been on plenty of MoSTFs/STFs where we absolutely couldn't defeat Witchie (Ghost Widow) without a rad or a dark. 
I just ran on a typical AE team... some lowbie leader with a bunch of other lowbies trying to get PL'd and a random level 40 something blaster and my 50 storm/dark defender. One of the lowbies said, "we need tank". I responded by saying that if our buffs and debuffs were good enough we'd be fine.
The mission that they ended up picking was a boss farm of course and we didn't really have much of a problem wiping them out. After awhile, I decided I wanted to get in on the leveling action and switched to a lower character and low and behold, when I come back the team is getting wiped left and right. I asked what happened and they responded, "no idea".
I'm not trying to brag about my l33t storm skills, my defender is only set up with SOs. What I'm trying to say is STORM ROCKS!

My 50's include Plant/Storm, Storm/NRG, 45 Earth/Storm and many more /Storm variations.
It is by far my favorite set in the game. Between the excellent debuffs from Freezing Rain and Hurricane, additional dmg from Tornado (and he debuffs as well yay!) and my little cloud of doom, this set rocks. It makes any pairing better. Oh yes, and it's a Healzor!

The failproof way of seeing if you own or not is to go afk or switch characters and see what happens.
I have a Storm/Elec and she only has O2 boost on the storm side and nothing on elec, everything else are travel powers.

When I enter a group everything calms down, and I love grouping with a blaster friend of mine. Sometimes he will have a problem with an AV or a deep purple mission and grudgingly will ask for help, so of course I don't make it easy. I tell him "SAY IT!! Say you need THE POWER OF STORM!!" He is FULL of IO sets and I barely scratch the surface with them.
Sigh, here we go again.
Why is it that people don't know what Storm does. I just had a 52 month vet tell me Storm doesn't debuff more that -to hit. When I told them that it debuffs -def and -res, they didn't belive me at first.
How do we educate people more on Storm? I know the rep the bad stormies give, but to not even know what it does?
