Been gone a while, need some build help
AoE powers are pretty dead, I heard. =/ Just so you know. (points at Fire Ball.)
Just so you know, Fire is no where near the god it used to be. However, it still is in solid third place, the first being tied by Sonic and Psy.
Get Flares. Drop Bone Smasher and get Total Focus.

Hmmm... well it differs from person to person, but I'd say Psy/ is THE first, instead of saying Sonic/ and Psy/ being tied.
I'd say Psy/ and Sonic/ are tied because they're more effective in theirown respect rather than being compared directly. In a straight out short-term fight I'd give it to Psy/, due to the number of Single target attacks and that Placate proc. Sonic/ is a bit better for long-term fights with the stacking (kinda, thanks to DR) -RES DeBuffs. In a fight the DPS looks about the sam, but the DPA is much different. It feels like more of a preference debate at this point.
For the Fire/ Build, yes, drop Fire Ball for Flares and drop Bone Smasher for Total Focus. I'd also say take Hibernation, because of how stupid useful it is for blasters. Also, you could possibly drop Acrobatics and slot the +KB resist IOs from Blassing of the Zephyr (into SJ) and Karma (into Froen Armor).

awesome, Ill do something up real fast
Im not too concerned about not being THE god of pvp anymore, I actually hated how much being fire/em used to diminish my kills
As far as IO sets go, do I still want to stack -rech, +acc, and +dmg (can I still stack bonuses?). And do I want my snipe?
edit: and would leadership be superior to concealment assuming I'm not getting phase? (goes with the whole IO bonus stacking I suppose)
Edit2: something like this?

I can't look at anything atm but I wouldn't drop acro at all. With DR you should try to pick up alot of kb protection. You can still stack bonuses but +rech isn't quite as important. I'd shoot for +dmg, +hp and then +rech. I also prefer leadership over concealment for the +perc and +dmg.

Don't drop acro. With about 50-65% (regular amount of rech to aim for), NoPhase takes out the need for Double Phase. Aim for +Hp and +rech, and with either of those usually comes accuracy and damage.

RIP PX, GMW, and the game that used to be fun.

I made up a build here (could have sworn I posted it about 30mins ago) that seems to be pretty nice. Dropped acro in favor of my snipe, BS in favor of TF, fball in favor of flares, and concealment in favor of assault/tactics.
Anyway, +23% dmg, 1570 hp, +48% acc, +69% haste. That gives me a smooth flares-->fblast-->blaze chain pre-hasten and a seamless one post hasten (and with hasten on such a low downtime it can be counted on). Factor in an early conserve and I should be able to pump out some good numbers. Im also considering dropping the celerity +stealth in super speed. It seems kind of pointless now that I'm really looking at it.
Beyond that I have a question concerning the build up proc in tactics. Does it just randomly proc while its active (this is what I would asssume) and, if so, is it worth the trouble? Also, where am I going to want to slot pvp sets? Thanks for the help.
Edit: Im going to switch hoarfrost out for conserve and pop acro in at 24
Edit: Changed that up, now do I slot KB protection in frozen armor and CJ? I would assume so but Im not sure how it works (went with 3% global def in FA for now, KB protect in CJ)

[/ QUOTE ] Yes it does have a random chance of proc'ing but it's only a 5% chance. It could go off at anytime so that's very unreliable and not really worth it. I'd slot tactics with 5 adjusted targeting and put the +perception proc in the 6th slot.

solo pvp?
Cooler than every single owl EVER.
The reason why I still put Psy/ at the first is that it doesn't really take that much time. Hence, the -res of Sonic/ wouldn't effect all that much in a single battle.
By the time the -res is reiterated to something very noticeable, the target would be faceplanted at least once.
Not saying Sonic/ sucks, it's just in PvP(well.. mostly zones PvP, no duels, since that's what my experience is mostly about), I personally think Psy/ does better job/performance.
Drop Inferno, pick up Conserve Power at 32, and get Hoarfrost earlier for more slots. It's a huge heal, and caps your HP. Nukes are useless now, as they usually do about 20 more damage than your t3 attack, while destroying your end.

Ya, I'm happy with where the build is at. I don't want to drop the nuke because it makes such an effective finisher when youre down and out (also it rapes MMs in zones which can be funny). If it were any other nuke but inferno I would skip it but the damage is far too good to pass up. Not to mention it gives a good place to slot an epic set.
I see the validity in dropping it, popping in conserve, putting hoarfrost where hibernate currently is (same slotting) and tossing hibernate on the tail end with 2x recharge IOs. It would make an effective setup and would give me a couple extra slots to mess with. I just really dont want to get rid of the nuke. I may set up my second build with that setup though to keep things varied. So I'm not disregarding your advice, because I thought about it for a while, I'm just asserting my own style into the build.
Thanks again for the help, you guys gave me somewhere to start for sure.

I do have to say that seriously. Go ingame type [Inferno] and then type [Blaze]. It's lolzy.
And Hoarfrost is huge when you can heal an entire AS.
But ok.

@Siphonic
RIP PX, GMW, and the game that used to be fun.
Still playing for reasons unknown.
Only resurrecting this thread to post this new build because I was wrong and need people to see that I was wrong in the context of the thread.
I really didn't understand how much having a snipe changes my playstyle and the nuke has been literally worthless for me the past week. It isn't the damage of it that is dumb (the damage owns), its the fact that without BU/Aim it never hits the people I want it to. I got it initially because of the way I used to use it (killing MMs, as a final hurah when I'm about to go down, or as a general AoE combo'd right after fball to kill multiple villains) but pvp has changed too much (more of a focus on single-target for blasters, which is a good change imo). Just pointing this out because I don't want anyone else to make my mistake.
So, the new build (critique plox)

i would 5 slot flash freeze before i 5 slotted combat jumping, theres just better stuff you can get from sleep sets.
put your apoc set in a quicker recharging power.
switch what you have in hibernate for 2 efficacy and one of your sets of adjusted targetting for a set of gaussians to get you right up to the hp cap (1606).
also, with that much +recharge i just put an end reduction in boost range because it no longer stacks.
I actually just changed my apoc to fblast but I was uneasy about it. That helps. Ill def make those changes (they seem obvious)
edit: I'll refrain from reposting. from doing that, I gained recharge, dmg, and +hp. Definitely good changes.

Hola Amigos
So I haven't played CoH since around issue 11 and I'm not quite sure what is good anymore. I play a fire/em blaster and my latest memory of pvp is double phase blaze spam (skilled, I know).
I have a build on mids (which appears dated) that I'll link here but I don't want it critiqued as much as I want someone to flat-out give me a meta build (I'm lazy like that).
thanks
