The empty spaces in Active Defense will be Membranes for the Defense Debuff resistance, and the empty in Tough is for (eventually) the Gladiator +3% def IO. Can I softcap more efficiently? It looks decent enough for recovery; please, correct me if I'm wrong.

off hand, mine also has 3x BotZ in super jump, and if you're going with jump take hurdle instead of swift.


The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.

I just finished with this build, with the exception of the 5 LotGs, the Membranes, and the Gladiator +def IO, none of which should affect my defense totals significantly in Mids'. The number in the build are a few percentage points over the softcap, and that's obviously without the PvPIO. But in-game, I'm not even a full percent over the softcap for melee, and under for ranged and AoE.

What's weird is, I'm short right at 3.13% melee and 3.75% ranged/AoE from what Mids' says I should be. Is something not working right? Here's the build again (I think it's altered slightly from the OP):

If you guys have any clue, I'd be grateful.

Oh, and what's really weird: the numbers Mids's gives for the set bonuses plus 3.75% from Phalanx Fighting are the exact numbers I have in-game with no toggles on.

Your copy if Mids' isn't setup correctly for Shield Defense. Go to Options -&gt; Advanced -&gt; Database Editor -&gt; Main Database Editor, scroll down in the first column to Scrapper_Defense and click it, then in the middle column select Shield_Defense and double click Phalanx_Fighting in the third column. Change the power scaling in the bottom left corner to 0 minimum.

Did that. Saved, closed Mids', and opened it back up. Same thing.

I turned off the scaling completely and still had the same numbers. Is there anywhere else that it needs changed?

It sounds like you don't have your build in putted into Mid's exactly like you have it in game, and your Mid's totals sound like they include 1 ally in range of PF. Mid's can change the level of the buff based on if it's set to 0, 1, 2, or 3. It does the same for powers like Invincibility and soul drain.

what is the point of 5sloting T'Deaths in Siphon Life ?
Soul Drain requires a tohit check and you have no acc in it...

Remove the Numina +Regen/Recov and Regen Tissue +Regen from True Grit and replace with Numina Heal/End and Heal/Rech.

I think at this point I'm going to assume that Mids' is messed up, and I can't seem to fix it. I've followed all the steps outlined and keep getting the same results. I'll try uninstalling it and reinstalling it later. Thanks for all the help with this, guys.

It was originally 6-slotted for the def bonus, but I thought at the time I could skimp on the melee because it was over 50% according to Mids'. I replaced one with the Theft of Essence proc, and I'll likely put a 5 set of Hecatomb in when I can afford them.

I didn't have anywhere else to slot a set of Gaussian's. It wasn't my first choice, but I needed (and need even more, now) the +def to all it provides. I'm open to any alternatives, though.

I'm also open to any more critiques or suggestions. And thanks again to everyone that responded with help.

First note, I found what I was doing wrong. I found the slider in the power info and set it to 0. With that info, I tweaked the build some, and added the purple sets I'll want. Suggestions for improvement?
