IO 5 Set rule?

I used to know how this rule worked. But I've sense taken a bit of a break from building new chars. I just play the ones I have every now and then.

I've started in to rebuilding my Ice/SS tanker just for AE missions and what not. How ever I noticed in my combat attributes that it only shows a boost of regen from 5 IO sets. I have + regen comeing from more then five sets. How ever there not all the same. Some are large increase some are small increase some are ultimate increase to regen.

My questions is, how exactly does the 5 IO Set rule go. Does it matter if the set is not the same as the next set? (i.e) 10% increase to regen and 12% increase. Or is it just a regen bonus in general can not be repeated more then 5 times? Or is it the classification of Bonus (i.e) Large increase or small increase?

I got another question? This also comes from the fact I havn't been keeping up with this game like I used to.

I her /psi got nerfed for both doms and blasters. Is this true? I was thinking of making a mind/psi dom, but I herd earth/nrg is the way to go. Which I might be missing something there but doesn't earth holds give +100% resist to KB. Making narg kinda pointless? other then maybe tf and the boots?

Drain psi got whacked pretty hard. It still gives a good end buff and a good -regen debuff, but the -recovery is laughable now.

Say you are getting 5% Recharge from Doctored Wounds.

If you were getting 5% Recharge from another set, you would be at 'cap' for that bonus and it would be ignored.

So for ex:

5 LOTG = 5 x 7.5%
Your Snipe set wouldn't add its 7.5%, but the rest of the bonuses would still happen.

You used a really bad example. 5 lotg + one other 7.5 bonus will indeed give you 6 total 7.5s. The lotg is recognized by the the game as lotg 7.5 bonus not just 7.5. For this reason its a bonus all its self.

a good example are thunderstrikes and red fortunes, both have a 2.5% ranged defense set bonus( technically speaking thunderstrikes get more since it also has negative energy set bonus, but more on that latter), for the purposes of ranged defense only you wouldn't more than a combined total of 5 complete thunderstrikes and red fortunes( that would give you 5*2.5), however you found a set that has a set bonus for ranged defense of 3.% you could add that to your ranged defense set bonuses.

Wrong. The 'rule of 5' is only if there are more then 5 of the bonuses with the same name. The name that shows up in your info (the huge list some ppl have with all their bonuses). So if you get more then 5 7.5% recharge bonuses with dif names you get the buffs still. If they are all named the same you dont.

Im goig to be less specific and give information.

If you have 6 set bonuses that all offer the same bonus (IE 10% Regen), then only 5 of them count. However, the 5 bonus rule only applies to the SAME bonus being applied. So, you COULD have 5 10% regen bonuses and 5 12% regen bonuses, etc.

ok,, so would they all be reflected in combat Attributes? because including health I only show bonuses coming from 5 places, Not nearly as many as should be reflected in my sets.

if it is the same bonus then it get's lumped together. in other words if you have 5 10% regen bonuses, they get lumped into one category under health. and so on and so forth.
