Load game on second machine

I'm about to take a business trip, and thought I'd like to play a bit of CoH in the evenings while in the hotels.

Is there any issues with loading the game client to a laptop and then logging on with regular account. Essentially, will I encounter some sort of licence conflict machine code thingy, and will it attempt to charge me?

Finally, if I can do it, what's the best method these days. I have the GvE CD. Is it better to load that and then run thru all the updates? Or is it better to install the game from the website?

Thanks

No problems, unless the laptop won't handle the game.

Easiest method is to copy (across a network if possible) the game files from the first computer to the laptop. Create a folder called C:\Games\CoH on the laptop to put the files in. Copy the Updater to the Desktop of the laptop. Launch the Updater, but do NOT accept the default location. Instead, point it to the C:\Games\CoH folder you copied the files to.

Good to go.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

If you want to know if the laptop will handle the game, follow the instructions in the previous post, then post the results from CoH Helper and we can give you a good idea about how it will likely run and possibly some suggestions on improving your game experience on the laptop.

One thing to add here is you also need to delete the 'CoH.checksum' file in the game folder after copying. As I understand it, the updater throws an error and quits if you don't.

Bah, you are correct. I always forget that point when I'm typing it out.

No problem there at all. You can install it on 10 computers if you want. You're paying for the ACCOUNT and it will only allow one computer to be logged in at any given time.
