Best Solo type on hero side for fast leveling

From what I recall, Spines/Fire or DA is supposed to be good for AoE.
Regen is often called "Easy Mode"
Katana and Broadsword both have parry (or equiv) which gives you extra Melee/Lethal defense - which does you much good in the game.

Claws/Regen Scrapper is the fastest I've leveled to 50, going mostly solo.
If you get in with good teams, though, just about any AT will level quickly.

First, has it been confirmed that we will be able to switch sides with the Epic ATs? I wouldn't be surprised either way.
For solo speed, a Scrapper or Blaster is definitely the way to go IMO.
As far as Scrappers go anything works great. The AT is pretty well balanced. That being said, Willpower is generally considered one of the easiest(if not the easiest) secondaries.
Blasters solo great. I would suggest Fire or Ice because of the superior ST damage. Paired with /elec or /EM you can do some amazing damage.

The reason they dropped the villain kheld idea was because they were going to allow hero khelds to cross over anyway and didn't want to have a duplicate AT.

Nah, all the farms are nerfed now.
(QR) As others have said, scrappers and blasters are your best bet.
The reason is damage output. Killing things fast is the way to go.
Of course, you need to keep enemies from killing you.
A scrapper's tougher than a blaster, so that's a bit easier. You have defenses and stuff from your secondary to keep you alive.
All scrappers solo well, but Regen's particularly good for a solo player. Why? Well, one weakness of Regen is that it doesn't do well when large chunks of damage all come at the same time. But that's only a problem on teams. While solo, you'll slide by fine.
Secondly, Regen has Quick Recovery, and you get it at like...what, level 4? Other lowbies have to huff and puff until they grab Stamina or whatever at 20...or slot endurance reduction. You get Quick Recovery virtually from the beginning. Even at the low levels, you can KEEP KILLING. That's an AMAZING boost to levelling speed.
All that said, personally - my fastest soloing character is indeed a blaster.
As a solo blaster, you either need to kill stuff so fast it can't touch you...or have some kind of mez to lock stuff down. I personally play an Ice/Ice blaster.
With all the holds and slows, my blaster's pretty much untouchable against most enemies. They freeze. Then they die.
Other blaster types have their own mitigation and tactics. It's more of a knife edge than playing a scrapper, but if you get it right - yeah, it's faster.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, my fastest was a blaster too. Ice/EM in my case. I just took both the holds and bosses weren't a problem.
Right now, I think I'd pick Willpower over Regen. Willpower has a better blend of tricks, and it's pretty much entirely fire-and-forget. Turn on your toggles, pay attention to something else. Modern-day regen is very clicky.
Katana/WP would be my recommendation.
I agree completely about WP. Kat is a great option. Good damage and the extra defense from DA is nice.
