A few Noobie questions
1.) Click the little letters at the bottom of the input box. Right mouse clicking also allows you to select global channels. Use "Team" to talk to your team, "Broadcast" to talk to everyone in the same zone as you, and "Local" for only those close by.
2.) Right mouse click on the extra and click "Close"
3.) Menu -> ID. Or you can type /infoself
4.) That's what "Rest" is for And it'd be an Inspiration. Enhancements are things you use to permanently (until you delete them, replace them, or respec them out) increase the strength of your powers.

1. Little confused by new interface. How do I chat with a player? If I'm invited to a group how to post to group?
[/ QUOTE ]
You should have a Chat window in the bottom left that you can talk to ppl there. There are different chat channels, like Team, Super Gourp, Local, Broadcast, Tells, and more. If you want to talk to your team just use team chat. If you want to talk to only one player then Tells is what you want.

2. I have "tray" at lower part of screen. I clicked something that duplicated the tray. Now I have 3 iterations of tray and can't get rid of the other 2. How do I do that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Right click on the tray that you don't want and click remove tray. Make sure you don't click the powers or anything else just the tray.

3. Can't see on my interface where my level shows. I know it's somewhere in the menus but I would think it would be obviously somewhere in the immediate interface.
[/ QUOTE ]
Click on your Menu and then Click ID that will show you lvl you are.

4. If I don't already have a healing buff (is it 'inspirations' or 'enhancements?) then I have to wait a seemingly very long time for health to regenerate after a battle if I'm down to almost nothing. Is there a way around that?
[/ QUOTE ]
There should be a power called Rest. It is in your powers you need to put it in your tray. Then you can use it a regain your health and end faster.

If you are on a Trial account, you actually can't initiate a private conversation with another player; you have to use Local chat or the Help channel.
On top of your typing box there are a bunch of little squares with letters in them. Click the one marked "L" and you can type in Local. To chat in the Help channel, type "/hc <whateveryourmessage>". If you get invited to a Team, you can talk in the Team's channel by clicking the little "T" above the typing box.
If you're *not* on a Trial, then you can type in Broadcast by clicking the little "B" on top of the typing box. If you want to send a message to a specific character, type: "/t <charactername>, <whateveryourmessage>". The comma after the character's name is required because names can have spaces in them. If you receive a Tell from another player (indicated in yellow) you can auto-reply by hitting the Backspace key.

Right click on them. It may help to click on the "<" or ">" around the tray number and shift it to one that doesn't have power icons in it.

Click "Menu", then "ID".

When you leveled up to 2, you should have received a "Rest" power. It will be grey with a little "+" on it. If it's not in your tray anywhere, click open "Powers" on top of the tray and scroll down to the box that says "Inherent"; Rest should be there and can be put in your tray by clicking on it.
Rest will drop all of your protections and immobilize you (so don't do it in combat) and give you a massive boost to Regeneration (HP) and Recovery (Endurance) rates.
Note that green Healing Inspirations are actually the least effective in protecting you during combat. The Orange and (especially at low levels) Purple ones give you Damage Resistance and Defense respectively; both will last for 60 seconds after being used.

A possibility that the others didn't cover: If the three trays are all connected, and there are words on the very top (Powers Inspirations Enhancements Salvage Recipes) to the right of the word Recipes there should be a '+' symbol. that will add more trays to your screen, ones that can be changed in size and shape. Those you can right click and close. But to the right of that '+' symbol, there's an "Up" or "Down" arrow. If all three of your trays are right there and connected, press the arrow, and it should consolidate it back into one tray. When you get more powers, you may want to show more trays so you can see all your powers.
I have a couple of my own suggestions here.

Your right alt key will raise and lower your power trays from one to three. You can use the arrow keys < > to change the tray numbers. I generally use tray 1 on the bottom, 2 in the middle, and 3 on top. Most people don't need more than two unless they're getting fancy with the temp powers.

Menu > Personal info (it loads faster than the ID and you can still see what's going on around you)
3. PLEASE NOTE...ID and Personal Info only show your SECURITY (heroes)/THREAT (villains) level...only another character can tell you your COMBAT level if you have leveled up or are sidekicked or exemplared or whatever. Your SECURITY/THREAT level only changes when you go speak to a trainer and get new slots/powers. Your COMBAT level changes when you ding, and when you sidekick/exemplar.

You can also type /whoall if you're not hidden (preferably in a low population zone) and it will tell you security level/combat level.
Thanx Guys for the advice. Very clear and helpful. I'm sure I"ll have more questions in future.

If you have leveled but have not trained yet, then in the top right corner, in the circle above your Health, Endurance, and surrounded by your Experience bubbles, you'll see a green Up Arrow.
Another vague way to tell what your current combat level is without asking, is to target an enemy that shows it's name in a color that isn't Grey or Purple. You can use it's level, and it's color (and arrows under the name) combined with what class it is (Minion, Lieutenant, Boss) to find your current Combat Level.
For example, if you target a level 7 minion, and its name shows up red to you (which means it has three arrows pointing up under it's name), then you're currently Combat Level 4. If it's a lieutenant, then add 1 to your level, because LT's always color one level higher then they really are (LTs the same level as you would appear Yellow to you, for example), while Bosses always appear 2 levels higher then they really are (a boss your level would appear Orange to you). This is to simulate their actual difficulty.
So there you go. A long and vaguely mathematically difficult brush with the conning system.
Here an interesting thread with people showing off their game's user interface.

If I've levelled a couple of times, and have lost track, I'll right-click on an inspiration, and go to the info. It says something along the lines of "As used by a level X AT"

Thank you, Champion.
