I have a cool concept for a Nin/TA MM but have never really been able
to get into them (not past like, level 12). Is this a good combo for casual
solo play?

It's not optimal, but no MM build is bad solo. Trick Arrow has much better synergy with ranged focused pets like Mercs or Bots. There's some more info in the guide in my sig if you're interested.

If it's just soloing, it's definitely doable. Just take Ice Arrow to hold one, attack another. Your Oni can hold the 2nd target too most of the time.

Take Aid Other when they need heal. It REALLY helps.

Ninja/TA has good theme but you will be resummoning a lot of times. The debuff values from TA are usually not good enough to keep those genins alive. Poison Gas Arrow's damage debuff is almost non-noticeable. The slow debuffs from Glue Arrow is better on a team setting than soloing.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Hmm, sounds a bit weak. Thanks for input. Trying to find a concept that works to take hero-side after Going Rogue comes out.

Sure Ninjas/TA is weak but that's ok. Not everything needs to be Uber.

Mine just hit 27 so I got to drop some slots into Oni, running 2nd diff level and seem to be doing fine.

I Flash, Glue, Poison Gas, and Acid. Get the Ninjas into Melee. Resummon when they die (they will) and move on. I didn't take Ice Arrow because the duration of hold is waaay tooo short.

The melee aspect of some pet sets seems to screw up the synergy with TA.

TA doesn't do a whole lot to protect your pets from actual damage except for the ability to completely screw up the mobility of enemy mobs. That doesn't help much if your pets have to run into melee to fight them anyways. It helps a ton though if your pets just sit back and blast while the mobs run very, very slowly towards you.

The Presence Pool will be your best friend in the whole wide world. Provoke (in bodyguard mode of course) and Invoke Panic did more to keep my ninjas alive than any/all of my /TA powers. Aid Other and Aid Self help a lot, too.

Ninja / TA + Teleport Foe = Flash Arrow + Abduction

If you're soloing, it's an extremely powerful (if slow) combo. It lets you "single out" minions so as to Thin The Herd without drawing aggro in a lot of situations. I call it "feeding 'em to the ninjas" ... because you have numbers, and they don't ... and you have friends/pets all around you ... and they don't.

What could possibly be more "ninja" than simply making your enemies ... disappear ... without anyone else noticing their (former) friends are gone?

Requires patient play, since it's not a steamroller tactic, but delivers steady, reliable performance from level 8 onwards ... and sets you up for your travel power (teleport) at 14.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

The biggest offender with nin/ta is the burning oil slick bug. With a ranged set, you can use the oil slick arrow, set it on fire and then cackle maniacally as the other guys burn in your oil patch. With a melee set, the burning oil triggers the panic response, and your pets will run around like idiots (more so then normal) no matter what commands you try and give them.

Ninja/TA is great theme, but that bug kills it for me.

yeah i built a fire/ta troller ages ago to use the imps/oil slick combo and that bug screwed me up... oh well
