Can't connect to the login server
Same here glad its not just me
Same.
Being Friday morning, my first suspicion would be the normal maintenance cycle. Looking at the server status page it shows all of the Live servers to be cycling between Up and Unknown, so this could be the reason.
In the meantime, I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.
Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
When posting the HijackThis and CoH Helper logs, please do not put it inside the Quotes tags. These remove the formatting of the output and make it more difficult to read.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Shows all the servers as up for me.. its not a problem my side or anyones else its obviously somthing they've done.
i also got a small patch but at first the Updater wouldn't load ive tried using the different port options to get on still no joy.
Seems to be working now. I don't usually log in on in the mornings except maybe the weekend so wasn't aware of the maintenance. I thought that was done on Tuesdays.
I'm glad it is now working for you all. I am still having this problem I can connect to other online games but not CoV and the updater works just fine. I keep getting the cannot connect to login server error though!!

You need to go to the NCSoft support site and file a Support Ticket on the Ask a Question tab so that the NCSoft Support staff can assist you in trying to determine the cause of your problems.
BigBrotherMidas, please use my post above to get the links for CoH Helper and HijackThis and some of our tech gurus may be able to spot something causing the problems.
Being able to connect to other online games indicates nothing other than that you can connect to those games. You can also connect to the forums, but that has no bearing on getting the game to launch correctly.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Well the ResNet guides kept trying to tell me earlier that it was probably a firewall problem but I thought if that were the case then a newly installed game would have the same issue, that's why I posted that because I thought someone else might have the same inclination. Just trying to help someone help me

I'd recommend updating the video drivers as the ones you have are ... very old.
9.3.1 drivers here
9.3 drivers here
I suppose it could be a firewall issue. Since, most likely, only another game using the Cryptic Engine that CoH uses would use the exact same ports and since no other games use said engine, it's rather difficult to test it by loading another game.
The ports used by CoH are at the bottom of the following page:
wiki
The only thing that really worries me in the CoH Helper is the Unknown on the Anti-Aliasing. Maybe Zloth, houtex, Mateo or one of the other regulars will have an idea of what causes that.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
I updated my drivers, thank you much
Trying to figure out how to open ports and crossing my finger hoping that's the problem

Take your router out and plug the computer directly into the modem. If this makes it work, then your router's firewall is blocking the connection. Reconnect the router, and refer to your manual on how to open a port.
If that doesn't work, or you don't have a router, turn off your firewall or antivirus program and try again. If it works now, refer to your Firewall or Antivirus's documentation on how to open its ports.
If this still doesn't work, try removing both simultaneously. As before, refer to the appropriate documentation for how to open ports.
If neither firewall, nor antivirus, nor router is responsible, other people may have suggestions on how to get things working.
And remember to reconnect your router and re-enable your antivirus and firewall when you're done!
@Roderick
ok, now seeing as to how it's no longer Friday, and it' is now Saturday Morning. This should not be happening. You know I really am tired of paying for a game I can not play. Here it is issue 15 and I haven't been able to fully try out the stuff from issue 14 because I kept crashing and refused to get back on after several crashes back to back and no help from support. I have been with the game since early stages of beta though if you look at my details it will say a little over 4 years because they don't count when you leave and come back. Oh yeah I got fed up before. But I had, still have a lot of faith in them. I brag all the time about how much better their support is over some other company which I wont name. And I don't mean Blizzard.....the other one... So I'm hoping they won't let me down...or erase all of my post again.
I just want to connect and play a game I have spent so much time and money on. Hopefully the issue will be fixed soon and I can play and not spend another few months paying for a game I can not play.
I didn't realize there was no customer service on the weekends

So apparently the issue is that the network on the new campus I moved to allows outgoing info through the ports CoV uses but not incoming info... Not sure what I'm going to do about this. I may have to actually leave the game which makes me quite sad.

Give the IT department some pizza and beer... they'll hook ya up. Just explain it to them. And maybe send over a babe or two (or a stud or two... I'm not biased in any way, what do I know about the people in the IT department?) to help things along, and to deliver the pizza and beer.
Also, if you hear of anyone playing successfully (the game what's name shall not be mentioned) or other MMO, then you have a complaint that can be successfully wrangled through due to fairness issues.
Which means they'll stop the ports that (the game what's name shall not be mentioned) uses, or perhaps block the traffic, so none of yas can play, but hey, at least you got it to be fair...
/wouldn't take anything but a couple of router rules to allow the port from a certain block of ips... but that'd be not my call.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
Started up CoH this morning and downloaded a small patch but when I get to the login screen and put in my ID and password after a few seconds it comes up and says "Can't connect to the login server.. blah, blah, blah". I downloaded and applied the patch fine and I'm not having trouble accessing anthing else.. the web, etc and am not getting any firewall popups. I tried disabling the firewall just to be sure it wasn't that but I still can't connect.
Any suggestions?
