Well my ELA brute usually can tank, but I consider that's due to the fact she's Stone Melee. Fault is so full of win I started tanking on my early 20s. And the KD from the mallets too.

But I suspect she'd get wrecked on an ITF where the mobs have kb protection (haven't played her in like forever, she's 38).

You are absolutely correct. I have Stone Melee on my Elec Armor brute as well. While he does hold his own with regular mobs (and laughs at rikti) he gets destroyed in ITF because of the KB/KD protection they have. Otherwise, it's usually the ranged damage that gets me. While every enemy in melee range is either end-less or on their butts, my 15% ranged defense is doing little to prevent me from getting pegged to death from a distance.

I was unaware we were discussing PvP. I have no knowledge of PvP. I was solely commenting on PvE. I am sorry for the lack of clarity.

Its all part of the same picture in my opinion. If everyone was saying how great ela was in PvE id be shuttin my mouth about pvp. But since there are very few touting how string ela is versus other sets in both PvP and PvE... You seem to be a lone voice of dissention, with a tight build and have lots of money invested in IOs. Kudos. But even that wont help in PvP. And many cant get there in PvE.
