City Vault has been shelved indefinitely since they couldn't get it to do what they wanted without negatively impacting game performance.

It doesn't have to be real time. They could just grab the data from the login server each time the leave world event occurs on a given toon, then send that to a sep web database that doesn't impact the world servers.

Considering EQ2 Players has had this for years, I suspect there was something other than technical reasons for not getting this live.
But it was darn handy on EQ2 players!

[/ QUOTE ]No, the devs have said the issue was that it hammered the data base servers to get the data. They'd need to rearchitecture their system to avoid that, which takes time, and time is of limited supply (especially when you're working on multiple issues + an expansion).
I'm sure they'll get it out eventually, but doubtful it'll be any time soon.

Remember a long time ago, devs put that option into the options pane - something like "hide my character info from the web view" or something?
There was talk of web-viewable characters, where you could see the specs and slotting of characters.
Whatever happened to that? I was pretty excited about it, and kept expecting it to appear... and it seems that it hasn't.
Is it still in development? Any ETA?
