If you did not login yesterday after maintenance then its the patches for i15. I tried to login during maintenance yesterday and had to dl 2 patches as well for i15

I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good, either.

update is fine, but the connection speed was at 1KB. I re-did it few times and now its about normal.

Yeah this 90mb update is going incredibly slow. When I launch the updater it'll start at my usual speeds (600-800kb/s) then I get to watch as it quickly drops down to 20-50k/s.

Theres something going on with the update servers it would seem.

Not necessarily the Update servers. I believe it is a hop or two before the Update servers where things slow down. Someone mentioned what the hop was and that they are throttling connections to give priority to THEIR main business needs.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Ah, good to know. Sucks, but its still good to know its not the update servers going up in flames.

I almost thought they were throttling down the update server the way things were going, glad I held my tongue on that comment.

Agreed, I downloaded the 1st 2 patches at 6.6Mbps then the 90MB update was going at 1KB. I restarted the updater a few times fot it to hit 600KB.

I'm inclined to believe it IS the update servers as I still cannot connect.

If it were a problem with the update servers themselves, NOONE would be able to connect.

I'd recommend filing a support ticket through the PlayNC website using the Ask a Question tab.

You may want to also file a support ticket with your ISP as well. You can get the IP addresses of the Update servers from the Wiki page.

Highly doubtfull its an ISP issue. As I can connect to the internet and download the 1st 2 patches at 6.5Mbps. Its just tht 90 MB patch that I and others are having an issue with. It will goto 1KBps or not at all. Im going to agree that its the update server/the new update. Dont you find it odd that once I15 went live people are only now having an issue?

No. It's fairly normal with a new Issue for people to have connection issues or problems downloading all of the patches.

Remember, you don't have a direct connection to the update servers. There could be a problem between your computer and the update servers that is causing the problem.

We have no way of seeing that connection or testing it, which is why I recommended filing a support ticket with PlayNC. Their support will work with you to try to resolve the problems and has all of the information needed as far as server IP's, server names, etc.

Again, I beg to differ.

You beg to differ on what?

A) That you don't have a direct connection to the update servers and something between your computer and the update servers could be causing your problem?

B) That you need to file a support ticket so that they are aware of the problem you are having?

or

C) That you need to file a support ticket so that the people with the tools to work with you and the servers can try to help you resolve the problems?

I think I'll go back to just supporting educators with computer issues. It's less headaches overall.

You can differ all you want, but your position is based on far too many incorrect assumptions. Unless you are a tech for your ISP, you have no evidence to rule them out. Regardless though, the Internet is a huge place and many different 'roads' twist and wind between CoX, a player's ISP, and the player. A lot can go wrong in-between.

First, the easiest thing to try is power down your computer, wait 30 seconds, then power back up. If the connection still isn't any better then try the instructions in Zloth's thread.
