I tried both Power and Fire and both did pretty well. This is with the temp phase for zones.

PB makes holds still hold and allows for more healing during heal decay. Also gives you CP for when ya get popped by Thermal's HE

Fire hits a good bit harder and activates pretty fast

If you are using a /Rad, Rock armor and sets can make you hard as hell to hit and you get a form of Earth's Embrace(for some reason I am uncertain of this atm, too much alcohol and Transformers last night)

PB holds are nasty for toons that are not built for i14 PvP...ie toons with little to no hold resistance. From my experience if I get hit with one of those I'm pretty much toast as all my toons are SO'd atm, or are all i12 specced.

I find if secondaries with self heals didnt really need Hibernate but thats just me. Phase worked fine so far

I always thought that Psychic Damage was supposed to be good for PvP, plus you get some mez protection.

You might also want to check the new PvP rules in detail.

If you have Mids it helps, as you can turn it to PvP mode and see that the dmg of each attack is not at all the same as the PvE dmg (that's pretty ridiculous, but what deals the best dmg now are pool attacks like AS/Kick/Flurry).

It's not at all like the old pvp, and you might be surprised. It's pretty horrible now in my opinion.
