So I just got back from the store.. The Hellspawn and I were looking for a fathers day card for his step dad. We checked at Walmart. CVS, Walgreens. Kroger even a local gasstation.. guess what we didnt find? A card from stepson or to stepdad. WTF?!?!! Maybe its just my area, but there wasn't a single one!. There was plenty from son, daughter, etc.. Hell there was even ones from the cat and dog, and ones in the shape of a beer mug. But none from the stepchilderen...
Guess the american greeting card company, hallmark and various other money takers will endorse beer, half nekkid women and pets but not ba$tard children.

sorry to hear that Detra, i've given up looking for stepdad cards years ago.
Here we just got done with my baby boys birthday party, he turned 2 today. So i'm stuffed from cake and icecream
Detra, when I had a step-dad I found that a Father's Day card that addresed him as "Dad" was close enough.
Or you could look for a blank card and hand-write something.

I got one for my step-dad during the week. the Rite-Aid pharmacy here has a HUGE hallmark card section though. And like BBQ said 'dad' always works and sometimes means a little bit more too. (I was just suprised to see some for step-dad though)

As a dad and a stepdad, getting a card from my stepson that just says "dad" makes me feel great.
Truthfully I don't go with the step thing. Both of my sons are my sons. I love them both.
Yeah the whole Step-thing I can understand. I can see how it would come across as more of an insult based on how that step-father feels about the child. IE: "I'll never think of you as anything but a substitute, you maybe cool but you'll never replace our teacher."
I guess maybe that's why you get so many rebelious children under step parents. Even if their original father/mother left for selfish reasons.
Not everyone LIKES their steps though so giving a card with the "step" on it makes the gesture but not the commitment. hehe Same with 'in-law' sometimes. My EX-Mother in law was a beast of a woman, I mean HORRIBLE. But I still felt like I should give her a card for her b-day because she was only horrible to ME, not her son. ANYWAY the "in law" part made me feel better about giving it to her because I could detach myself, and eventually ended up getting rid of her and her panty waist of a son.
The NEW and improved M-i-L gets "like a mom" or "mom" cards because she is the perfect mother in law and I adore her.
