One thing to do is Montague Castanella Story Arc so you can get into Cimerora. There are new Story Arc there and a somewhat new TF.

Start a new character at level 1? There are a lot of changes. Then you can come back to the Dom with more knowledge.

This. Everything is either significantly or slightly different than you might recall. There's more to do in general, more ways to slot, places to go, etc. Start fresh and work from there.

I'd second that, quite honestly. Besides, it has the side benefit of building up things like, oh, *salvage* that didn't exist before 
The game has changed massively for the 2 years I've been playing, I imagine you may as well roll a new character (maybe with some of the new powersets) to learn from the ground up.
I imagine your controller is gonna need a respec too, depending on how many of its powers have been changed. And if you were here before ED, then you almost definitely need a respec.
What is ED? That probable means I am lol.
The last time I played my imps would disappear and I would have to re-cast them.

Yeah, controller and dominator pets (PA/ST from Illusion aside) are essentially permanent now - though they do need resummoning after zoning. You can only have one (or one set, in the case of fire) out at a time.

As a fire controller you should know that controllers now benefit from something called "containment." When anything is held or immobilized, you get double damage. So if you do Flashfire (your stun), then Fire Cages (to keep the wandering mobs from wandering off and set up containment), then stand in there with Hot Feet running, you'll do big damage.
Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.
What's your secondary? Yes, that's actually important. I think.
There was the Controller changes of Issue 5:
- all AOE mez: duration cut in half and recharge doubled (no change to the inherent -20% accuracy penalty, though)
- all Pets: single summon only (except for the set of 3 Imps), but don't expire (except for death, zoning or manual release) and can follow through elevators
- to compensate, Controllers got the "Containment" inherent: after a foe is mezzed (by you or someone else) with a stun, hold or immob, your next damaging attack is double damage
And just recently:
- Stoney and Jack's AI were tweaked
- Imps summoned as -1 to you
- all Pets ignore recharge buffs
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
To help you get your head around Inventions, download and install Mids Hero Designer. It's the currently-supported, fan-made powerbuild utility. You can see what Invention Enhancements will total up for your character as and even search for specific Set Bonuses. Highly recommended.
I downloaded Mids Hero Designer and so far I have trying to work up a new build. My secondary is Storm which can be fun but not as nice as Radiation. I am still getting my hands around the invention enhancements but it looks cool so far.
I noticed the changes the the holds. They seem to suck compared to the way they were. It will take a little getting used to it.
I will have to try the Flash Fire, Cages and then hot feet trick. It sounds cool. I dont have hot feet so I might use my free re-spec on the test server and try that combo.
Also I tryed the Montague Castanella Story Arc and went to Cimerora. I got in the TF and got the custume unlock which looks cool.
I have been out of the game for about 3 years now and now I am back with my lvl 43 fire controller. With all the changes that have occurred over the last 3 years I am a little lost. Where are the best places to go at 43 and what types of things to do?
I tried the time travels place but as a controller I hate losing levels. I also tried a little bit of the invention system and it looks promising. I also made a new costume which was cool with all the new stuff.
