I'm sure this has been discussed before, but there are few real options to create a human, Natural origin Dominator (if any.. it's debatable). After Pistols and Demon Summoning are released with GR, I'm hoping for a new Control and Assault set. While I would ADORE electrical control, I was thinking that I would really like more natural oriented options.

For a control set, it would be difficult to do a true natural set, but you could get by with a simplistic tech set. A lot of current control sets could be roleplayed as technology, but not really for natural humans. I'm thinking something more simple, more down to earth than controlling the fire or gravity.

I was thinking something like Bombs. I don't want just another Devices or Traps, so I was thinking something similar in concept, but wholly unique. Controllers would get this set too, which is just dandy with me, they also need an option like this, but I'm more focused on doms and how it would fit with a secondary.

I'm thinking Bombs, like the various types of grenades you can get as temp powers, or you see enemies like the council throw.

Some might be stock things like a Web Grenades for Immobilizes (Single and Wide Area), but also more exotic ones, like Shock Grenades (for holds). I was also thinking of things like a Poison Gas Bomb, that acts much like the Poison Trap from Traps, or a Tar Bomb that acts like the Oil Slick from Trick Arrow. These are just examples. I don't like writing a huge essay saying exactly what I would want, power by power, I leave that to the devs, I'm sure they could come up with all sorts of interesting concoctions. Each projectile can be different too.. different shape and color, and be thrown with different animations, varying between underhanded tosses to outright major league pitches. I think it would be fun.

For a new Assault Set, I would like something truly unique to Dominators, but I would like it to be a weapon set. I have a few ideas, but one I'm fixating on right now is a Small Blades set. You would have a single knife in your hand, and use that for light, fast attacks. It might be cool for Doms to get a follow up style power with this set, as it would be designed like Claws and Dual Blades. It would probably require some new animations, but could also borrow some animations from Dual Blades and Broadsword (the Parry animation comes to mind immediately). In terms of ranged attacks, you could use various types of Shurikens, thrown with your off hand.. so you would basically use your right hand for cutting and stabbing away while using your left for tossing Shurikens, normal, exploding, and otherwise. I think it would be a cool set, and let Doms have something unique to sink their teeth into, along with the ability to use weapon customization. Lastly, I think the draw animation should be very fast.. instead of pulling the knife from your back or side, you should just sort of flick your wrist, and there it is. I think it would be sweet.

Whether these exact sets are used or not is irrelevant to the topic however, as they are examples. I would love ANY more natural oriented options for doms, and would be more than gratified to have weapon customization along with it

I don't mind the idea. And honestly, some things (Web grenade, perhaps Caltrops) are in the game already.

I have a hunch you'd see them as a weapon-based set, though, as opposed to lobbing grenade after grenade.

Hearing scrappers whine that claws, dark, willpower, super reflexes, invulnerability, broadsword, martial arts or katana aren't 'natural enough' for them makes bile rise in my throat for more or less this reason.

I'm all for it. I like all of the natural options. Small blades and shurikens seems really fun...gives it a kind of Tsoo flavor.

Ninjitsu as a control set!

Web Nades, nets, those ropes with balls attached on each end that snare feet, blinding powder, caltrops, poison darts, stun bombs, a possible fear power, smoke bomb, etc...

with a coinciding assualt set:

small dagger attacks, claws, throwing knifes, crossbow, a larger sword attack (soaring dragon type power), kicks from MA, shurikens, that stun power from MA, maybe throw in focus chi

I think a set like this, although designed ninja-esque, could easily be RP'd as a weapons/natural/hunter/trapper type character.

[/ QUOTE ]They're not. Just the complicated and arduous that require nightmarish code are. A lot of the 'easy' stuff was done during the low-hanging fruit period of CoX's life.

If you look at some of the SoA powers, you can extrapolate a similar setup for Doms. A hybrid Control/Debuffing set, with a mixed Ranged (Assault Rifle) Melee (Martial Arts?) set.

I think there was a proposal submitted by a player awhile ago about this very subject. Would be very nice to see it in game.

Redraw hell? I believe I just said I think the redraw animation should infinitesimally small, a flick of the wrist. I'm not sure how a .25 second redraw is redraw hell lol.

And yes, because throwing grenades is such a coding nightmare, it's never been done

Always one person like you that has to whine about something a bunch of other people would enjoy. Because you may not like it, it shouldn't be put into the game, am I right? And I'm not even necessarily talking about just my examples either.

If something like this gets put in, I suggest not playing it. It's lethal damage too..
