Sure, you can find some stuff to do when you are 50, they are good for helping lower level characters get the gear and inf they need for stuff. They can help make prestige for a supergroup.
The most fun about a level 50 is the adventure you took to get there.
Don't ruin the adventure by cheating away the fun of the game just to get to 50.
I find that I have much more fun on teams between level 5 and about 35 than I do on teams that are above that level. (I usually just solo hunt to level 5.)
When the game gets to be all about rushing and blinking lights it kind of loses my interest.

If you are into twinking your toon then lvl 50 is where you want to be (possible throughout the game though). If you want to pvp, having a lvl 50 build is what you want.
Aside from that there is very little that is possible at 50 that you can do at other levels.
