attaching Beacons to telepads
Just put them nearby, they should (IIRC, been a bit since I had to do this) highlight the teleporter they're 'attached' to. You don't physically "attach" them to the 'porter.
The only way to make them appear to be attached to the telepad itself is by using floating techniques. In this case, you need a cubicle.

Dang CaptA, I was doing it the hard way. I would use the wall lamps and keep stacking them further out from the wall, then place the beacon and pray it looked good. THEN remove all those lamps. hehehe I'll have to try that cubicle thing.

oh wow im glad i asked, i never would have figured out that i need to use items to ..... "Bug?" the beacons onto the Telepad ... weird
Thanx alot!!
The 'location' of the beacon will self-attach itself to the tp pad. Said pad will highlight yellow indicating which one it is attached to.
To make them appear physically attached to the TP pad, like CaptA said, use a cubical. I place mine (cubicle) on top of a floor safe to raise it up higher.

LOL Someone told me about the cubicle and I was so frustrated with doing it the other way I was not good enough at stacking to make it work that way.

That allowed me to float the beacons waayy out from a wall, and to float a wall lamp next to it.
I use cubicles for floating all my wall items, I never could get the hang of stacking the lamps out from the walls.

Is there a guide for using cubicles to float objects, or could those of you that have done it give us a quick run through of the steps involved?
Your help would be greatfully appreciated.

After you decide where you want your floated object to be, place a cubicle, aligning it so that one wall is the same plane as where the object will be floating. Remember you can place the cubicle over another item to get the right placement.
If you need a higher placement, you may need to stack the cubicle on top of a floor safe (or two or three).
Attach the floated item to the wall of the cubicle - you can use any of the walls, either the interior or exterior walls.
Once the item is attached to the wall of the cubicle, sell the cubicle. The floated otem will remain hanging in mid air, but if you placed your cubicle carefully, it will appear to be attached to another item.

Cubicles are pretty easy. Just put the cubicle wherever you need to float something - the cubicle can be intersecting the teleporter in the previous example. Then stick the item on the cubicle wall. Then remove the cubicle.
With the size of the cubicle wall, you have a pretty wide range of positions available. The person who floated the beacons and lights probably did both at the same time and then removed the cubicle.
