Surprised at popularity
Firing up the Zero-Star Cartel now! Thanks for the update! ;-D
Just kidding. That's great. How do you think people found out about it? Is the name catchy or something.
I was surprised by my second arc in a similar situation too. It was a villain arc as well. Maybe that's the difference.
Lately I've started deliberately searching out villainous arcs for my villains. The pickings are rather slim. I think heroes are just easier to write for. I know I personally have been banging my head off my villain arc for weeks.

To the OP, how many missions was it? If it was shorter, then that might explain it. People seem to be far more willing to jump in and play a random arc they've found if it doesn't require a huge time investment. *Huge* meaning like, 30-45 minutes.
Is it a fairly short arc? My one-mission arc about philosophers is easily my most played. Probably some players think that if it has such a strange premise, it can only be a disguised farm.

Possibly - or just that it is a villainside arc. *shrug* It's certainly not (for someone else's comment) a short arc or anything that sounds farmlike.

Oddly, I find the difficulty in writing them about the same. I haven't published one of my villain arcs since there's a feature in the MA I'm using that's bugged. I haven't started the others since I'm waiting to see if we ever get a way to add more slots.

The one on my sig is just shy of 400 plays now, and I made it only as a humorous short arc, to fill the gap left by an arc I had to take down due to the Ninjitsu bug.
I figured I'd make something silly to amuse myself that I could take down after the bug was fixed, but that was all the thought behind it. Go figure

No, not of the MA. Of one of my arcs.
I made one which dealt specifically with an RP in one supergroup. I planned on leaving it up for a month or so so everyone who wanted to in the SG could play it, then pulling it down. It's actually marked specifically as for a specific supergroup, and that "It may not make sense if you're not in it."
I've gotten a surprising number of plays and comments on it from people who are certainly *not* in that group but really enjoy it. >.< In fact, it's probably the most-rated arc - and I know the small SG it's related to has played them all, and aren't the cause of it.
Maybe from it being a villainside arc. *shrug*
