MA/DA love plz :)
Dark Regeneration is where end issues always arise from every /DA build. The more you use it, the more it seems futile to fight your end issues and embrace buying cabs every mission. The trick is to use it less and less, having other forms of mitigation that prevent you from leaning on it too heavily. Resists for DA have only ever really been enough to keep you up while waiting for DR to recharge. You're going to need more defense.
You have two options. Option one is relatively cheap: Go for tons of smashing/lethal defense. Reactive armors and kinetic combats. Slot weave more meaningfully, if you can, 5-6 slotting red fortunes gives great endurance reduction on your defense toggles, as well as capped defense enhancement, not to mention nice set bonuses.
The other option, is to try and get as much positional defense as you can. It's more encompassing than just going for smashing and lethal defense, but you have to make alot of sacrifices, and you generally have to spread your set bonuses across all three positions to be effective.
Both methods will require more slots in certain powers. I can make a couple suggestions on where you can save slots, and you can draw your own conclusions.
Conserve power: Doesn't need 3 recharges. With just 2 you won't notice the difference, and just 1 isn't as bad as it may sound.
Laser Beam eyes: I don't see why you need that attack, and it looks like a pretty expensive mule.
Oppressive Gloom: You can get away with 1 slot here, easy, if you need to.
Hasten: Same as conserve power, and with the amount of global recharge your packing, I don't see why you'd even need it period.
One last thing. Put some end reduction in Dark Regen for crying out loud.
Dude, you need more end reduction in all those toggles.
And for the love of Pete, put some end reduction in Dark Regen, it's taking a THIRD of your end bar every time you use it! Dark Regen's base end cost is 33. I'm not sure, but I think that is the highest end cost for a non-nuke power in the game. I 6 slotted mine, the Theft of Essence +End proc is a lifesaver, it has a chance to proc for each target in range when you use the power.
Here's my BS/DA build. I don't run Cloak of Darkness full time, and Tough is a mule for the Res/Def IO. Should give you a better idea of DA slotting, if not the attacks. Look at the difference in end usage vs. recovery in your builds and then in mine. Your second build is burning 2.33/sec and recovering just under 4. That will run you out of end within 45 seconds of fighting, if that. It only drops to 1.27 WITH Conserve Power. In contrast, my build is burning .6 a second and recovering 3.41, it drops to .35/sec with Conserve Power running.

I put 3 end redux in it, and while I still can't afford to use it constantly, it's not a complete end hog anymore.

I didn't slot DR for the dmg in the new build. I know it has dmg io's in it but that's not what I slotted them for. I think the build you are looking at is the (present) build. There is a link at the bottom of the post that is the (new) build. I have had the present build for over a yr now and only recently decided to go back and try and figure out how to decrease the end useage of DR in particular. Compared to the 1st build, I did exactly that. But I must admit that figuring out the slotting for this build has always been difficult for me to do. I know what I want, but haven't been able to achieve it.
Thanks for looking at my post and replying to it. I did go back and look at it and took out the 3 eradication io's and put in some more heal/end/rchg io's in their place. Decreased my end by only a cpl o % but the end is lower than when I started.

I think you also are lookin at the 1st build I presented. The new build has DR taking about 18.7 end w/o CP on. I noticed DR on your build costs about 23.7 w/o CP on. I will admit that I am not a huge numbers guy and maybe the amount of end that you use over time negates the extra 5 end in comparison. The toggles however, I completly agree with you on. I nd to figure those out. I will look over your build and see what I can pull from it to lower my toggle end useage.

Trust me, ignore slotting it for healing. It's not needed. If you need to use it for healing, there's at least 3 enemies. Every enemy it hits heals you for about 1/3 your max health. 3 enemies will heal you from 1 to full. Every enemy after that is just pretty green numbers of massive "I make the empath jealous" overhealing. Go with 1 ACC and 3 End Redux and you'll be more then happy. Set enhancements may not be the best thing with DR.

Hollows, do you mind re-posting your build. I loaded it into my Mid's and I'm only showing 2 slots in DR for no endurance reduction at all. I'm thinking there is an error somewhere. I rather not comment on your build until I see how you intended it to be.

Good point about the amount o healing per enemies. I tend to 4get stuff like that when trying to stack bonuses.

I also heal 800 some HP on 1 target the way it is slotted. Like I said before, the Theft of Essence proc's value isn't apparent in Mid's. It has a 10 or 20% chance to go off when I use the power, and it checks once for each target in range. If it fires on 3 or more of my targets I actually GAIN endurance for using Dark Regen. It will fire on 2 targets on average out of 10. So, on average, Dark Regen is costing me a net 3.7 end to use.
Theft of Essence: Chance for +End is the best single IO investment a Dark Armor anything can make. It really is that awesome.

I have it in the new build. Like I said in the op, I couldn't get the new build to export, but the link is there. The only reason I mentioned the amount o end that you have in DR is because I was trying to figure out if it mattered compared with your overall +rec and end useage. Which is considerably lower than mine since I have (had) two more toggles running and my slotting on some o my toggles wasn't that great. Even in the new build some weren't that great. I guess I was depending on CP to much to make up for my end deficiencies.

While Dark Consumption is a great power for managing endurance, once I had my IO build in place I found the power superfluous. Regrettably, the recharge of the power negates it's function as an attack. As a result, I no longer have Dark Consumption in my build.

I'm one of those poor unfortunate souls who had to miss out on BSG during it's prime. Thanks to the beauty Netflix, I running a psuedo-BSG marathon. Basically I just watched all of season one, season two, and am halfway thru season 2.5 (don't ask me why the FRAK it wasn't just included in season 2). Needless to say, frak will likely be at the tip of my tongue and finger tips for the next week or so...but the show is fantastic.
Lol. I use it whenever it applies. Drives my wife nuts. Keeps "reminding" me that the show is no longer on.

In order to keep my endurance under control for a long AV fight, one of the toggles had to go. Unfortunately, Death Shroud got the axe, beacause I wasn't dropping any of my armors. The other reason I dropped it is I just didn't have the slots to give it to make it worth running.
Please note that this is not my main build. This is my second AV spec build. It looks nothing like this on the live server, but on test it works pretty good.

Use multi respecs maybe? Think about if the use of respecs are worth more or less then the IOs you would loose.

I have had this char for almost 4 yrs and with every respec I do I have never truly felt good about it. The res and rec are what kills me. That's why I picked up CP, to help bear the load for a bit. I have a love/hate/love relationship with this build that I don't have with any other 50 that I have.
My focus for this build (MA/DA) has become more a lil more expansive over the last few months. It used to be +rec, +rchg, +HP and +reg in that order, with a vain attempt at gettin a lil more +res in there. I have now added +def and +acc to the list. But in doing so, +reg/HP have taken pretty big hits, which is fine I guess. I'm including my current build and the one I am looking at respecn n2. If there is anything that you guys see that could improve the build, I'd love to see it. Thanks in advance.
