Last Night's Hamidon Attempt
I'll be sure to make a new toon and get them to 50 for these raids, my current brute is just inadequate for a hami raid.

Mojo,
Make a /Rad Corruptor if you feel like playing one. We need more of them for villain raids.
Awww, I missed it.

Triumph Lurker: mintmiki 50 emp/archer
basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.
Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.
It was fun being the 1st viktum of the fun jello! (Storm Rush)
Yea, it was a learning experience. It sounded like almost all of us didn't know what to do. We need moar!!
"every defender needs to fight. I don't care if you have to use BRAWL!"
I was the only one on my team who jumped in for the melee nuke on the first round, I thought that was funny.

I told Dawun....
It was sort of a joke that turned into a Pick Up Raid when over 40 people showed up.
At least now we know there's real interest.
I'd love to jump in on the next one. I've moved a lot of my redside 50's to other servers, but I still have an Ice/Cold Corr... would she be of any use?

Yep! Frostworks is good for any of the taunting Brutes, especially the Alpha. Ice Blast powers are good for helping with Green and Blue Mitos.
Can I keep bringing my WP broote for zerg rushing the yellow
You failed because you did not have the Donkey! Heeeheeeheee.
Kudos on *recruiting* enough to try!
Sorry I missed it, was helping my niece with end of year test preperation.

There's actually some truth to that. Azile and I were thinking it would've been nice to have another experienced Alpha taunter so that Hedy could be used to lead the Bravos.
P.S. WHY AREN'T YOU EVER ON?!?!?!?!?
It was a valiant effort and good learning experience...looking forward to the next one now that I know what to expect. Thanks Cath for leading the attempt.
Sorry to hear your initial attempt failed, but glad you'll be trying again!
If I could offer some advice...
1. Yellow Mitos: While some servers employ a tank taunt team on hero-side to lock the yellow agro down, you might be better served by just sending two brute teams out to kill the mitos directly (and as a matter of killing them, holding their attention). A pair of brutes can often kill a yellow themselves, as long as the greens are distracted (by damaging the nearby blues).
Two teams consisting of 6 brutes plus 1 kin and 1 heal/rez is good. Assign two brutes on each team to each of three yellows (front/back, left/right...however you want to divide them). Extra brutes, stalkers and melee VEATs can form one or more spike teams to assist in the yellow take-down. Like hero-side, it should take between 40 and 80 secs to take down all the yellows.
2. EOE's: Typically only the yellow anchor brutes need EOE's, and usually only one per run. Extras for the spike teams is good too. The rest of the raid shouldn't require any. This will keep the EOE count down to just four for each melee engaging the yellows.
3. Blue Mitos: I mentioned that a pair of brutes can kill a yellow IF the greens are distracted from healing it. This can be accomplished by having the rest of the raid (ranged attackers) split up and assault the blue mitos. Greens heal the closest damaged component, and that will be a blue over a yellow.
If the raid isn't comfortable splitting up to cover all the blues, have them follow a targeter who will shadow the spike teams and keep the blue nearest their yellow damaged.
4. Bio-Nukes: Since villains lack the empathy regen auras, you might consider using a temp power. The Warburg bio-nuke solves this minor problem quite nicely. While certainly not required to succeed, it does increase the margin for error and makes for a smoother mito phase. It has a 5-minute duration and a target cap of 20, so prioritize the yellow melee teams (have the brutes and spike teams stand together apart from the rest of the raid; then a designated nuker can hit just them, and a second nuker can hit the ranged teams if you have enough for all).
Good luck and I look forward to seeing how you do!

No, I mean we've succeeded a couple times before. This thread is about the failed attempt from last night that was a random Pick-Up raid.
First, thanks so much to everyone who showed on a moment's notice. We didn't succeed, but we learned some things:
1) Triumph isn't quite ready for Pick-Up Villain Raids. - I suspected this, but last night confirmed it. We really didn't have enough EOE inspirations to go around, and we didn't have enough team leaders present to direct the different roles of the raid. Live and learn.
2) Yellow Mitos have to be sufficiently aggroed. This is another one of those "things we knew going in", but it's worth repeating. We had a rookie Bravo taunt team who did a stellar job on a moment's notice. We just need to fine-tune it to make sure this role is covered. It tends to be one of the most annoying jobs in the raid, but it's what keeps the raid alive. Azile and I take the blame for this. We could've shifted leadership a bit to make sure this wasn't a problem. Again, it was a learning experience.
There's more to tell, but azile is going to work on a guide for raiding Hamidon on both sides. Once the guides are written, there will be a new strategy thread on the HKS boards. If you haven't registered there yet, please do.
Thanks again to everyone who joined us in The Abyss! Stay tuned for EOE runs and raid announcements coming very soon!
