It looked like 50 to me, although I did crash so I didn't actually see the "You get 50 merits!" message.

Like MG, crashed upon exiting. But had 53 merits afterwards, and since I had 3 to start with...

Good times. I hadn't played my blaster in a while. It was nice to take him out of mothballs and kick some Freakshow and Council butt with him.
I just have to remember to carry around a bunch of tier 2 purples with him. And use them...
