The good old days
Ah, good old TB. While every server has their black sheep, he pushed the envelope. An overachiever in that sense.
Of course, he did leave. But for all we know he's back again under another alter ego, watching us now even as we type.
Not sure I know who that is.... Oh Arch...thanks. It was fun all in all really.

You guys could at least pm me and tell me.

I asked Nomme and she wouldn't tell me, instead suggested whoever mentioned that "thing" to tell me.

Yah, THAT wouldn't surprise me at all.
They were called disciplines.
I remember at the beginning having speedos available at character creation, but then they disappeared for an issue or 2 before we got them back.

HWSNBN* was an interesting character. I won't go into details, because I honestly don't remember. I drank enough of Night Reaver's rum to purge the memories.

HWSNBN (a.k.a. Trident Boi) was a Protector player circa issue 3-4. He was basically seen as a trouble maker, tho I think that reputation was given to him by himself, to make him feel like the bad boy, cause the rest of the server was mostly left scratching their heads whenever we tried to understand what he was trying to do.
I remember Trident Boi's posts on the forums, which usually always turned out to be giant, aggressive, eye-bleeding walls of text; with no paragraphs, no punctuation and even less sense. His in-game chatting was much of the same.
After a while, Trident Boi kinda became part of Protector's mythos, like Badge never really existing and only being a story to scare emp defenders at night, or Ish doing pantless poetry. People would say HWSNBN* (tm) would return and attack us with senseless babble if someone would mention his name more than 3 times in one post (or something along those lines )

I actually finally got my main through a Manticore on Monday (ah, aliteration!) to finish out my TFC accolade.
We only actually stealthed one or two missions in there. The rest we just steamrollered and dear GOD was it fun!
The reason it took two hours had almost nothing to do with how fast we ran the missions. We had a couple instances where people had to dump salvage/recipies at WW, everal bio-breaks, and a couple disconnects.
In a time before merits and loot, before villains and pvp, before temp travel powers, even before the Hollows, back when Ish actually wore pants! ... My first Positron TF - as the regen scrappers lay dead in the sewers dreaming of level 28, 2 AR/DEV blasters unleashed improbable ownage with their 6x damage snipes and seriously overpowered targeting drones. Buckshot was a thing of beauty when slotted with the legendary CONE Range enhancements.
That TF took 8 hours. Emerging victorious, while walking home both ways uphill through snowstorms, we were greeted by Floating Eyeballs in Atlas Park. The team search window showed 2243 folks logged on. There was no lag and Protector was still only yellow, while Freedumb and Virtue were red. I don't think shades of gray even existed in those days. A costume contest was just beginning, but I was off to investigate rumors of stores not marked on any map that sold special enhancements. I was level 15, I could fly, and the night was still young.

Just to add that Blazing Blue ran a successful 4-players Positron TF Sunday night as well.
