Look at the Law of Fives. You would get a level 40 set bonus on a level 50 character, but not if you already have five of that set.

Thx guys, I've spent more time PvPing then in PvE lately and used to the bonus not counting more then +/- 3 your toon's current level.
And yes...MIDS is great

I thought it was +/- 3 levels in order to receive the set bonus.
Example...in SC, sets have to be between lv27 - lv33 since ur toon is capped at lv30, no?

[/ QUOTE ]No, it has to be 10-33. You're correct about being limited to +3, but you can go any number of levels below you.
(Also, Purples are the exception to the rule, and always work despite being lv50)

I thought that you always get the bonus if your level is ABOVE the IO set (IN the mission that you're playing).
I thought you lose the bonus, however, if your expl. down to do a mission and your IOs become +4 or higher than the level you're playing at.
I believe that's why the low level IO with special procs. are even more expensive than the higher level ones.

IOs with procs (chance for damage, +stealth, +regen/recovery) will work at any level, as long as the power is available (not greyed out).
Any set bonuses they provide will not count if you're lower than 3 levels below the IO level.

Yeah, for the benefit itself, a classic proc and a 120s proc-style IO just need to have the power they are in used.
Global IOs however (the KB protection IOs, etc) provide a special set bonus - as such using those IOs follows all the rules of a set bonus, and THOSE ones are crazy-spendy the lower they are for that reason.

Quick question for the gurus. I just started playing my lv50 Kinetic Corruptor after letting it collect dust for awhile. I'm IOing him up and working on squeezing the last bit of 3.75% defense (Melee) from the 6th set of Touch of Death. Will the lv40 set bonus work for me if I'm playing at lv50? Thanks in advance.
